Authorities have subpoenaed members of the Democratic congresswoman’s family as part of a broader look at their immigration paperwork
WASHINGTON—The Trump administration’s investigation into Rep. Ilhan Omar (D., Minn.) is aimed at building a case to strip her of her U.S. citizenship and ultimately deport her, according to U.S. officials and other people familiar with the probe.
The multipronged effort is focused at least in part on how Omar obtained her citizenship after she arrived in the U.S. from Somalia decades ago. Investigators are focused both on the congresswoman and actions of her deceased father, some of the people familiar with the probe said. Nur Omar Mohamed brought his daughter and other family members to the U.S. from a refugee camp in Kenya in 1995.
Omar’s Washington, D.C., home was searched by federal agents early Monday, three weeks before the midterm election, in which she is seeking-re-election. The Justice Department said Homeland Security agents executed a court-authorized search, but it declined to elaborate.
Items taken from Omar’s home included her cellphone, notebooks, personal computers and her passport, some of the people said. Only the congresswoman and her husband were home at the time of the search.
Authorities have also issued more than a dozen subpoenas, including to some of Omar’s relatives, seeking testimony before a Minnesota grand jury, a person familiar with those proceedings said. Among other things, the investigation is looking at her family’s immigration paperwork, the person said.
In a Wall Street Journal interview earlier this year, Omar said she never committed immigration fraud.
“President Trump would love to eliminate one of the most effective progressive voices in Congress. There is no basis for this,” her office said in a...

GREAT!
She’s a muzzie. The End. Kick her skinny ass out
Sadly the statute of limitations for the immigration fraud has run out according to the former ICE head on Laura Ingraham.
Sort of like Hillary who drank and clinked glasses at parties when various statutes of limitation ran out on a few of her crimes.
Thought it said immediately. Christmas would be comin' a little early this year.
I suspect (hope) that the investigation goes beyond just the immigration issue.
Inside leaker says Ilhan saw some pebbles that spelled out a threat on Trump’s life. Judge shook his head and laughed. /s
Let’s hope this scandal has something to back it up or it will look really bad for our side.
There is no statute of limitations on immigration fraud or misrepresentation in U.S. immigration law, meaning individuals can face deportation or denaturalization at any time, even decades after the fraud occurred.
For example, with Nazis who lied.
The standard is civil, too.
I want to see the b*tch do some hard time first before being deported.
Thanks. Reassuring.
I forgot to ignore tv news and to follow the good people on FR.
I want to see her assets seized and see her broke when she is deported.
Rumor is she was 18 when her father applied. She lied about her birthday to say she was 17 and come in as a dependent child.
Aims To Build Case For Stripping Her...
Nobody objected when it was about Sydney Sweeney.
Agreed. A civil removal is not constrained by the criminal statute of limitations. In addition, the statute of limitations doesn’t toll, generally, during ongoing concealment/continued fraud.
Agree. Scrubbing prison toilets in a women’s correctional facility better suits her career talents. 🧹🚽🪠🪣
Although the prison laundry might work. Money laundering for Somali fraudsters was experience that counts.
Back in Somalia the women are still scrubbing dirt floors hoping to make them look clean. 🛖🛖
This will come to absolutely nothing, once again.
Nick Fuentes talked 30 minutes about this news.
On August 27, 2026, the United States government starting a denaturalization process against Ramiro Resco Esparaza (https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/justice-department-moves-strip-citizenship-40-criminals-largest-single-period) because he concealed acts sexual misconduct against minors during his application for U.S. citizenship in 2008 and the interview in 2009. So the Trump administration believe they can denaturalize someone by withholding information from an application 17 or 18 years ago, way longer than a 5 year statute of limitations for many federal crimes.
