In November, 2015, Chelsea Rooney, a grad student at the University of British Columbia (UBC) came forward with the claim that Steven Galloway – a then award-winning fiction writer and, since 2013, charismatic Chair of UBC's Creative Writing program – had four years earlier violently raped a student (unnamed, but in internal investigations referred to as MC for Main Complainant, and legally thereafter alluded to as A.B.)...
And here Galloway's harrowing journey through the satanic mills of peak feminist misandry began. Rooney had no personal knowledge or evidence for a single claim she made. But she was an ardent proponent of #MeToo and for her, hearsay was enough. She was not alone. She was just one of many vicious women who in cult-like fashion devoted their lives to destroying Galloway's.
The woman at the heart of the story, A.B., was five years older than Galloway and married (as was he). Their affair ran from 2011-13, when she was a graduate student – but not Galloway's student, so there was no power relationship between them. Thanks to her relentless campaign against him, abetted by her coven of misandric acolytes, Galloway's professional career came to a juddering halt. Put on leave in late 2015, he was fired in 2016 after an internal investigation, despite its finding that "on a balance of probabilities no assault occurred."
Reflecting on the fateful day of Rooney's announcement, journalist Brad Cran, who followed the whole saga in granular detail for Quillette.com writes: "It's as if his soul were dipped in bleach, so that thousands of writers, academics and social-justice activists could then project their worst fears, vices, sins, frustrations, jealousies, and academic theories onto him. He became a stand-in for rape, for 'toxic masculinity,' and even for the patriarchy itself."

What an horrendous abuse by these women. If they had any proofs, they would have come forward by now; by all appearances, their accusations are lies.
He’s a good-looking guy. Seems like the original complainant very much wanted to believe he had his way with her, in the absence of any actual behavior.

I saw nothing in this article about Galloway suing the crap out of UBC. That would be worth a couple of million at least.
Galloway no longer writes fiction. His ordeal has destroyed the desire. Perhaps he should consider writing about his ordeal in the nonfiction category. It would probably be better than his fictional writings of the past.
38 years ago I had a technician that was stealing from the pharmacy, cash not drugs. We fired her and then the accusations of sexual harassment came. She was afraid of prosecution and thus dreamed this up as a shield. Little did she know, the company would write off the loss instead of going to the law and complain. That is just business.
I insisted on a polygraph for myself and her. I took it and she would not. Game over! My boss called me and said “all is good.” I asked if he was going to file a criminal complaint against her? He said no and it was a totally sound financial decision. I said, “if you do not prosecute thieves, you will have more thieves.” Oddly he said nothing and I gave him my two weeks notice. I was right in my decision as was he in his decision.
She was my best technician, efficient, charming to the customers and just damn good. I trusted her and a major error of my judgement.
