A medical examiner determined a man found hanging from a tree Sunday morning in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, had committed suicide, officials in Prince George’s County said Monday. County leaders reached that conclusion just hours after it happened.
Still, the symbolism behind the death meant emotions were raw and heightened as county leaders held a press conference — something nearly unheard of when it involves a suicide — to promise honesty and transparency as the investigation continues.
And police say the case is not closed yet.
The body, a Black man whose identity has not been made publicly available, was found hanging from a tree in front of an industrial business in the 9300 block of D’Arcy Road on Sunday morning.
While police and fire responded fast, they couldn’t touch the body until a medical examiner could arrive and conduct their investigation.
The body was hanging high enough that it was hard to block it from view, which means a lot of people driving by saw what happened, and even more people saw the picture travel through social media. With it, came theories about a public lynching.
“Don’t ask for clickbait and use this tragedy to get followers or to get likes, because this is a tragedy,” said Prince George’s County Executive Aisha Braveboy. “A person is dead. He’s dead, and he took his own life.”
She added that county leaders and investigators “will tell the truth” and she won’t be entertaining “theory, innuendoes and folks who just want to spew, quite frankly, untruths.”

That's just weird. If the act had been completed shortly before they arrived, just taking pressure off the neck by pushing up on the legs may have saved a life.

Even though stories are exposed as nothing at the very beginning, the media still writes articles which basically milk them for the same effect as if they had been real, and they can do that for weeks and years after the nothing burger.
Much of the media will still milk this story, by rehashing “why it is so disturbing” “the legacy of” “memories” “imagery” “black” “lynchings”, “suspicions remain” “emotions run high” ‘unanswered questions” “history of” and on and on.

And why is that? Could it be because we have a race hustling industry in this country, that is aided and abetted by the press, that thrives on making emotions raw over old symbols that were not sensitive until the race hustlers made them sensitive again. Could it be because we have a Democrat political party, an activist industry and their lackeys in the media who want to create raw emotions over the anything they can to gain and hold political power?

I capitalize ‘Black’ for the same reason I capitalize ‘Cajun’ or ‘Latino’. ‘Black’ is the colloquialism African Americans have chosen to designate their ethnic and cultural group. It’s no skin off my back to refer to them the same way.

When the demand for white-on-black hate crimes won’t keep up with the supply, then you just have to be proactive and take some initiative.
The color of skin is not a culture the way Cajun or Latino is. Maybe they should start using African more often.
