EU Plant Health Law
X / European Union ^ | September 19, 2026 | European Union

Posted on 09/19/2026 12:16:39 PM PDT by ProtectOurFreedom

The EU instructs:

"If you’re one of the millions of people every year entering EU borders from a third country, you need to be aware of an important rule under the EU Plant Health Law. You cannot introduce any plant or plant material into the EU unless it is accompanied by an official certificate from the Plant Health Authority in its country of origin.

This simple rule has been put in place to protect European agriculture and forestry from the entry and spread of new dangerous plant pests and diseases which could be present on imported plant, fruit, vegetable, seed or other living plant material.

The only exceptions to it are bananas, coconuts, dates, pineapples and durians. They do not need a special certificate because they do not pose such a risk. Plant pests that do pose a risk can be very destructive. If they’re not stopped at customs they can rapidly spread, damaging our green spaces, devastating crops and harming Europe’s beautiful landscapes, its agriculture and the health of our environment.

With the Plant Health Rule you can play a small but powerful role in helping keep European territory safe. So please remember, if you do not have an official certificate for your plant or plant material, don’t bring it into the EU with you."

Last time I went through one of those I was on 395 heading north out of Reno. I told them we were going camping in the mountains and they waved us through.

We were coming from Idaho, but all the produce we had was purchased at Costco in Idaho, and it was all from California.

I don’t have a certificate from the Plant Health Authority. So it looks like my plant and I won’t be vacationing in Europe anytime soon.

When visiting inlaws in Alberta, CA, my well-meaning mother-in-law insisted on us taking fruit with us for the long car ride to Illinois. I tried to decline, and it was being consumed en route. At the border in ND, we were asked if we had any fruit. Knowing it was being consumed, I said no, but my virtuous Canadian wice simultaneously said yes. That resulted in the whole family being placed in a windowless room for half an hour while the US Border went through our packed ‘94 Chevy Caprice Wagon. Never take fruit for the trip!

I agree.
And they’re worried about plants when there’s millions of muslims coming in?
Sharia law doesn’t give a shit about plants.

What the EU will they do when the Iranian death cult clerics succeed in making nuke bombs.
We know the clerics will use nuke bombs if they made them, I’m confident they would nuke Israel first.
I’m agnostic regarding Israel but I do know Israel has nukes. So within hours there will be multiple mushroom clouds over the middle east. And the clouds w nuclear fallout IOW dust, would circle the earth for several months. Imagine how that will impact the EUs Quality of Life! Potentially every plant n tree with fallout on it.
The death cult clerics need to go into the dustbin of history before they make history.

Our eldest daughter was getting her Master’s Degree at University of British Columbia in Vancouver. She flew from Vancouver to Jackson, Wyoming to join a family trip to Yellowstone for my 65th birthday. She had ONE peach with her for a snack and answered honestly at customs in Vancouver that she had the fruit. They shook her down and she BARELY made her flight to join us. She learned her lesson!

All U.S. states and the U.S. have very similar laws. That is why you can’t bring that fruit you got on the cruise ship back with you.
