French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen wants to halt military and financial support for Ukraine should she come to power. She proposes convening a major peace conference and seeking a diplomatic resolution to the war. Her opponent, former Prime Minister Édouard Philippe, has described the refusal to provide aid to Kyiv as a move that benefits Russia…

Well, in all fairness, President Trump also drastically reduced our welfare payments to Ukraine, as are others ( Germany’s recently elected AFD party). Seems Ukraine has run out of “ other people’s money”.

Peace Conference. Pffffft. More of a capitulation conference. What, exactly, do they plan to give the Russians to stop Putin's quest to conquer Ukraine?

His plan has never been to 'conquer Ukraine', that's just propaganda.

The Russian goal is to keep NATO out of Ukraine, and thus maintain a neutral buffer between Russia and NATO along a large front with no decent natural barriers.

In the end, the Russians are as likely to tolerate NATO in Ukraine as we would be to tolerate Chinese bases in Mexico or Canada. We'd go to war to prevent it, just to avoid the potential threat it could pose.

How long before the Ukraine obsessives on this site start a campaign vilifying LePen and National Rally in France, as they did against Viktor Orban and Fidesz, the AfD in Germany, and even Vice President Vance in the US?

Apparently, because in their minds love of Ukraine trumps all other consideration, it never occurred to them that National Rally's first concern is France's sovereignty, not Ukraine's. Putin isn't going to invade France anytime soon.

What amazes me most about these obsessives is the fact that they will turn on any political figure not for being supportive of Putin or Russia (which none of them are) but for being insufficiently devoted to their precious Ukraine. They need to realize that just because Kyiv is the center of their (small) mental universe, it isn't the center the universe for political leaders who have their own nation to be concerned with.

You are funny. From day one, Putin was very clear on his objectives.
1) No NATO for Ukraine. Neutrality.
2) Return the ethnic Russian Donbas, Lughansk, Donetsk to Russia per the two elections that have been already held.
3) Ban the Neo Nazis of Ukraine, presumably by Rada decree.

Very simple. Vlad has only 5 percent left of Donetsk to liberate. As he has stated, they can agree to terms or settle it militarily….the clock is ticking on Ukraine.

All his original demands concerning Ukraine.

There’s a boatload of Ukraine/NATO First partisans on this site.

And it’s far, far from America First.

Amazing denial of reality. We all saw the immense column of Russian army vehicles that tried to reach Ukraine's capitol at the start of the war, but according to you, that didn't happen. Okay

I never said that didn't happen.

I simply dispute the idea that Russia intended to incorporate the whole of Ukraine into Russia.

The 'Russian support' in Ukraine is to be found in the east:

Putin wanted to keep Ukraine as a neutral buffer, and incorporating the western parts that are staunchly anti-Russian/pro-Ukrainian nationalists would not provide that buffer.

His plan has never been to 'conquer Ukraine', that's just propaganda.

Putin's plan for more than 25 years has been to take back Ukraine and make it part of the Russian Federation, just like it was part of the Soviet Union before. Stop believing his propaganda.

The Russian goal is to keep NATO out of Ukraine,

Yeah, by making Ukraine part of the Russian Federation. Duh!

and thus maintain a neutral buffer between Russia and NATO along a large front with no decent natural barriers.

There never was a need for a buffer or barrier, since NATO was never a threat to Russia. Putin fabricated that threat out of thin air, to justify his invasion of Ukraine. Duh!

In the end, the Russians are as likely to tolerate NATO in Ukraine as we would be to tolerate Chinese bases in Mexico or Canada.

Making things up to justify your insane narrative. Again!

The Chinese have not been threatening to go and take Mexico or Canad, while Putin/Russia have always been threatening to take back Ukraine and other former Soviet satellites.

We'd go to war to prevent it, just to avoid the potential threat it could pose.

Your hypothetical is nothing more than BS. Whereas Putin's invasion is a REALITY. Duh!

Have you ever thought about the possibility that Ukraine is part of Europe and that the Europeans want to stop Putin/Russia at Ukraine, before the ‘limited’ war in Ukraine becomes much bigger with Europe having to battle Russia.

BTW, Russia is no longer capable of battling against Europe, and they can’t even finish their 3-day war, and in fact, Russia is losing the war, badly!

From day one, Putin was very clear on his objectives.

Okay, let's see your nonsense once again... 1) No NATO for Ukraine. Neutrality.

That's none of Putin's business. Ukraine, as an independent and free country, can decide what's best for them. Duh!

If Putin could decide for Ukraine, then Putin could also decide who in Ukraine should be president, including one of his puppets, which in fact, he had already done.

2) Return the ethnic Russian Donbas, Lughansk, Donetsk to Russia per the two elections that have been already held.

What elections? No oblast can have elections not sanctioned by the Ukrainian government. Putin cannot have sham elections and then decide that they count for Russia's benefit. Duh!

3) Ban the Neo Nazis of Ukraine, presumably by Rada decree.

That too is NONE of PUtin's business. Ukraine can decide its own government without Putin's intrusion. If Putin doesn't want Nazis in Ukraine, why does he tolerate so much of it in Russia, which has more Nazis than Ukraine?

Vlad has only 5 percent left of Donetsk to liberate.

Conquering is not the same as liberating, and the people in that area do not want liberation by Russia; they were liberated from the USSR and didn't want to return to being slaves to Russia.

As he has stated,

He can state and demand, but he's no longer in a position to make demands. Russia is on the verge of collapsing. It is Ukraine now that is in a position to make demands.

Russia can agree to terms or settle it militarily….the clock is ticking on Russia.

Russia has a skeletal military compared to what it started with, and going on 2 million casualties against Ukraine. Putin has resorted to mobilization since he is running out of troops for the meat-grinder Ukraine has waiting for all of them.

Here is a Ukie Molfar link who has a open blacklist.

It’s a “list of foreign individuals whose public statements may potentially be used in the interests of the Russian Federation.”

Molfar, had describes itself as an open-source intelligence agency which “collects lists of Ukrainian enemies to bring war criminals to justice.” Its website previously named both USAID and the US Civil Research and Development Fund (CRDF) as “partners.”
One wonders, what was the legality of US agencies sponsoring foreign groups to smear and blacklist Americans and meddle in American politics. 🤔

Le Pen is on this blacklist, too. The list is endless with many U.S. & foreign politicians, Journalists, bloggers.... Elon Musk, Le Pen, Orban.....are on it. They took President and VP Vance off after the Presidential election. Even Charlie Kirk is still on this disgusting list.

NATO first, Europe first, Russia last. Hmmm... which sounds better and more democratic and less dictatorial and imperialistic. The Russian bots inhabit this forum too, and they're losing the online battles just as badly as Putin is losing the battles in Ukraine and inside Russia.

Which side are YOU on? The freedom loving Ukrainian supporters, or the Russia/Putin loving/tyranny loving side?

I simply dispute the idea that Russia intended to incorporate the whole of Ukraine into Russia.

Putin intended to take all of Ukraine, ever since the break-up of the Soviet Union. That Ukraine fought back and stopped them in the eastern regions, does not mean that that's all Putin wanted. No doubt if he's by some miracle able to take the Donbas region, that he would be looking forward to marching on again towards Kiev.

BTW, Russia already lost Donetsk, and with that, the Donbas is out of the question for Putin. And Crimea is also lost, and Putin had better start defending the regions inside Russia that border Ukraine. But, Russia can't defend any of it's territories inside Russia, so, Ukraine could just march in and take Moscow and St. Petersburg; Russia's military won't be able to stop Ukraine, since they're busy dying inside Ukraine. ;-)

Simple, dude...

Anybody that is anti-Ukraine and pro-Putin/pro-Russia, should be on the blacklist. Russia is the enemy of the west, just like Iran is the enemy of the west, as well as China and N.Korea.

Anyone that favors Russia/Putin in the invasion of Ukraine, is the enemy of the west and more specifically, the enemy of Ukraine. If you support Putin and Russia, you may not appear on the list, but you should.

Logic isn't your forte - which often happens when someone becomes emotionally attached to an issue, country, or person. Let's consider the two statements in your post:

Statement #1 - if we don't stop Russia in Ukraine, (Western) Europe will have to battle Russia. Statement #2 - Russia isn't militarily strong enough to battle Europe.

Now stop and think for a minute. These two statements cannot possibly be simultaneously true. Either Russia is a threat to NATO/EU, or it's too weak to be a threat to NATO/EU.
