We reported earlier on 14 recent wins that are going to help the country, from immigration actions to economic actions.
But now there's a new report from two U.S. officials about a deal that's in the offing.
"Calling this deal huge would be an understatement," one of the officials said. "It is massive."
The Trump administration is in talks with Venezuela's interim government about taking an ownership stake in the South American country's enormous oil resources, two U.S. officials tell Axios.
Why it matters: The historic deal would more than double U.S. oil reserves by drawing from a country that has the world's largest proven reserves.
They're still working out the details, but the deal pertains to more than a dozen productive oil fields which have "90 billion barrels of proven reserves."
The fields in question, which have 90 billion barrels of proven reserves, used to be controlled by former Venezuelan insiders — including some who've been indicted — as well as interests once controlled by China, the official said.
In return for giving the U.S. an ownership stake, Venezuela's government would benefit from private companies, including American firms, developing the fields and returning more oil revenue to that country.
So not only are we getting the oil, but taking it from the radical leftists. Nice.
How important is this?
The Venezuelan oil deal would be a legacy-defining moment for President Trump, who has made U.S. energy security and dominance in the Western Hemisphere pillars of his so-called "Donroe Doctrine."
- "President Trump is close to securing America's energy future for generations to come, not just in the U.S. but in the hemisphere," a second official said.
The Venezuela move by Trump not only turned a hostile country into a more compliant neighbor and cut out China's influence there, but now this deal could help guarantee our energy freedom. All the issues we see regarding foreign oil could go away, at least in terms of our own energy security, if they are able to lock this down.
The talks are being handled by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, so we know they're in good hands. He's talking with their interim head of government, Delcy Rodriguez.

Win, win!
Yeah - until another tin-pot dictator takes over and Nationalizes the oil fields - again -
Or until tin-pot Dems undo all of the remarkable achievements of President Trump.
US companies had large stakes in Venezuelan property, and their socialist government simply “nationalized” it and stole it all. The definition of stupidity is doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome, and yet here we are. Does anyone really imagine that capturing one guy (Maduro) eliminates the whole socialist regime controlling their government?
I hope ExxonMobil’s smug Darren Woods ends up eating his words after he told Trump Venezuela was uninvestable under the current conditions.
I think we're okay so long as Trump is in the White House controlling the whip hand. My main concern it will all be flushed away immediately if/when a Democrat becomes President. I have the same concern with respect to Islamonazi regime in Iran.
Yep.... their heavy crude can easily be processed by our refineries.
Venezuelans will NEVER let a commie take over again. Once people have lived under that horror AND gotten free of it - they never go back. We have Cubans in Florida still freaking out decades after commie filth murdered their loved ones trying to escape that hellhole.
Lets hope they make a movie about the assault that took Maduro down. It would be like Entebbe.
Yeh, I forgot about that. You’re right.
the great thing about a US FedGov ONWERSHIP stake is that no potential subsequent tinpot dictator would dare try to “nationalize” that ownership interest since then they would have to directly and kinetically face the full force of the US military ...
“Yeah - until another tin-pot dictator takes over and Nationalizes the oil fields - again -”
at which point, because the US FedGov is the OWNER, said tinpot dictator would immediately face the direct and kinetic force of the full US military ...
Believe it when I see it.
“Peace is almost at hand.”
Delta will be hoping to be left out of that movie.
The Chinese bots are quite active on this thread.
I agree - it would be a cool if Hollywood came across as entertainers and not as ‘preachers of the Commie Way... I’d be a nice change.
The movie would have to have some weird special effects - rumor is newest American weapons were used...
Awesome!

Don’t kid yourself. Hungry poor people are just like a drowning man. They’ll grab for anything that might help them, including a communist dictator.
Human nature doesn’t change.
Even commies can't fool people forever.
No one starves to death in the US. Even the drug addicted 'homeless' pooping in the streets for years are getting fed daily. They might die of an overdose but they don't starve to death. You know that - as long as you've lived her you've never seen someone starve to death. None of us have. (excluding children tortured and starved to death by 'mommy and boyfriend' monsters) So give it up on the 'hungry' thing - the people who are commies in our time are the useless sons and daughters of elites... and the criminal underclass - NONE of whom are hungry.
