Nebraska GOP sues to block the ‘America First Party’

LINCOLN — The Nebraska Republican Party is suing to keep the America First Party off the November ballot.

The GOP lawsuit asks Lancaster District Court Judge Darla Ideus to overrule Nebraska Secretary of State Bob Evnen’s decision not to intervene with the party’s creation, declare that the party’s language is meant to confuse voters and therefore breaks state law, and stop the party from being officially recognized.

The lawsuit argues that Omaha Tribe Attorney General John Cartier, the sponsor for the America First Party, “dressed up” the party with “conservative talking points: cracking down on illegal immigration, defending the Second Amendment, opposing abortion.”

I presume this is the founder's balootpedia bio: https://ballotpedia.org/John_Cartier . He certainly has endorsements from organizations on the left.

Why not?

I mean, if you loose the election to be town dog catcher, why not start a fraudulent party in a state to steal votes and collect a jackpot from rich foreign influencers who want to disrupt elections and so social discord. Cha ching

A Leftist.

"...The lawsuit argues that Omaha Tribe Attorney General John Cartier, the sponsor for the America First Party, “dressed up” the party with “conservative talking points: cracking down on illegal immigration, defending the Second Amendment, opposing abortion.”

“However, the façade crumbles under the slightest scrutiny. Mr. Cartier is a well-known leftist political operative with deeply held leftist political beliefs. This is not the establishment of a legitimate political party. It is political sabotage — a calculated effort to maliciously confuse voters by hijacking a nationally recognized brand inextricably linked to President Donald J. Trump and the conservative movement he leads,” the lawsuit reads. ..."

Look for the rats to pull this BS all over the country. Offense always on offense. They never stop finding new ways to subvert the system

While I think this ‘party’ is a fraud, nothing says, “We’ll win on our leadership and ideas” like suing, or ruling, to eliminate political competition.

EU/Germany anyone???

It’s a Democrat sponsored dirty trick. The real purpose of the so-called “America First” Party is to split the Republican vote.

An article by the same author:

There was also the creation of the ‘Nebraska Working People Party’ but I haven’t seen any allegations of ‘false flag’ on that party yet.

We are starting to sound like Europe now. Banning other parties.

Hey why don’t we ban Islam instead? Maybe we could try that First.

But we won’t because we are spoiled fools who won’t rid our own society of the cancer slowly spreading. Instead we head overseas and fart around thousands of miles away to rid them of what is gaining a lot of ground right here.

Seems those elections and voting machines aren’t working for us anymore.

So disgusting.

It’s not “banning parties”. It’s stopping a rat attempt to commit fraud. That much should be obvious

No it isn’t. It is because both political parties are horrible failures. Time to speak the truth.

They don’t even deserve an ounce of respect.

When the current options stink on ice, people start looking elsewhere. That may stink too. But hey, they can see it as nothing to lose.

Both parties are dirty tricks on the American people.

And they do it with the help of the filthy Media. A good example is this article from American Thinker LINK: Preview of coming attractions: El-Sayed promises to raise taxes on the middle class if elected to Senate El-Sayed guy promising to increase taxes on the middle class and he explains it like this:

El-Sayed: So for the average person, you look at your W-2, if you're an employee who gets paid every two weeks, after you pay your taxes, the next biggest check that comes off the top of your paystub is to your health insurance company. So imagine that instead of paying that to your health insurance company whose CEO makes $20 million a year, instead, you paid a little bit more in taxes for health care you wouldn't lose if you lost your job or turned 26, or got married, or got divorced. I think all of us would be a lot more interested in that kind of system if we knew that our health care would be free at the point of care, and would be free without having to worry about losing it in general. So there's an opportunity here I think to trade what we give to a big corporation who gets to decide who we get to see and who we don't for a little bit more paid into FICA and I think that's a trade that's worth making. I think the broader public understands that that's a trade worth making considering how many people are holding medical debt, a third of all Michigan households right now.

Welker: Just to be very clear, you're describing this tradeoff, you are effectively acknowledging the people making less than a million dollars could see their taxes go up, I just want to be very clear, is that a 'yes'?

El-Sayed: I'm saying we'd be paying for health care in a different way. Instead of paying a health insurance company whose CEO makes $20 million, I would much rather pay for durable health care into a government, which, of course, we all know provides health care for seniors who need health care the most, so if I am trading, paying a CEO to make more money, or paying government to guarantee me health care...."
And that is as far as they prying questions of the Media go.

The author of this excellent piece at American Thinker retorted:

"...As if Obamacare, the first step towards nationalized health care, and sold to the public as a cost-reduction plan in 2010, didn't drive up health care costs a whopping 70 percent, which is the root cause of public discontent with health care costs. He wants more of it? How socialist of him.

El Sayed glibly speaks of CEOs making $20 million a year, as if these were sinecure positions, contributing nothing of value to the delivery of health care and not people weighted with tremendous responsibility and (unlike government) fire-able for underperformance. He also ignores the tens or hundreds of billions lost to fraud in government health care systems, which the public pays for, as if the latter were somehow better.

Like Obama, he promises just 'a little bit more' in tax increases, not specifying what he means by 'a little bit more' and ignoring that the government can easily make 'a little bit' a lot more and there is no exit for the public when that happens, which it always does. Just look up the history of income tax, or for that matter, recent Democrat tax hikes in the states...."

Thing is, a lot of gullible people (and not just the same people who thought Obamacare was a great idea) will read El-Sayed's explanation, and that will be it. They will never hear the reality of the retort by Monica Showalter...and they will be gulled, willingly, into voting for the piece of human excrement.

And like you said-the crap like starting another party is just another arrow in their quiver, another tool in their toolbox.

That is it. Illegality, Dishonesty and Deception are the only way they can win. And they have no moral compunction about using those tools to obtain power.

The only reason that RAT attempt can gain enough ground to hurt is because the GOP has been a miserable fail. Right now the bastards are taking another vacation of almost 40 days after coming off their last big vacation. They have done nothing for the Americans who have voted for them. They were given a massive victory in 2024 and it has been squandered.

The division was in the party way before this group ever formed. The GOP establishment has retained its stranglehold. I can’t stand them almost as much as I can’t stand that other party of clowns, lunatics and communists. The RATs have been given a great opportunity to dismantle the whole country for good because of the repulsive useless GOP. The GOP are the people who have done more to help democrats than any poor schlump who is looking to stand against their treachery.

Bob Evnen is a Democrat with an (R) after his name because — Democrat dirty tricks notwithstanding — that (R) is the only way to get elected statewide in Nebraska.

That may not *quite* be a true statement. What IS true is that you can’t get elected with a (D) after your name.

So you invent a bogus 3rd party to take away GOP votes (of course Evnen would approve) or you run as a phony “independent” (but with lots of Democrat $$$$) like Dan Osborn and hope that enough people will be fooled.

Osborn didn’t fool quite enough in 2024 but he might in 2026. Especially if there is a sufficient number of disaffected conservative voters who aren’t inspired by a squish like Pete Ricketts and who will just stay home in November. The “stay home” effect is going to be huge this year, nationwide.

Even in the disastrous 2018 election year conservatives were inspired to support Trump and the GOP and they showed up at the polls in record numbers for a midterm. Democrats showed up even more, though. Much more. ONE of those two things is true for 2026 — the bad one.

Osborn still probably won’t win, but in THIS year anything *can* happen, no matter how “unthinkable” that is to those who don’t actually think.

P.S. This “America First Party” garbage is totally irrelevant for 2026. That party is not on the ballot anywhere in Nebraska, federally. Their alleged Senate candidate is a guy running on the Dirtbag Doper (”Legal Marijuana Now”) party line and who is going to drop out anyway — and support Osborn.

Why can’t we pull the same crap? Democrat Socialists has a nice ring to it.

Excellent idea! Though I think it'd be better to use the name "Republican Socialists".

Should be easy. Here's a starter policy platform:

-Maintain the current social security retirement system.

-Maintain the current Medicare and Medicaid systems.

-Maintain the current SNAP program.

-Maintain minimum wage requirements

-Continue to dictate what insurance policies must cover, including the disallowance of charging more for pre-existing conditions.

-Continue the current EIC program where people who pay no federal income taxes can still get a "refund"

-Yada.

One of the reasons socialism is so appealing to so many is because we're most of the way there to begin with. Almost 80% of government spending is for social programs which have gotten so huge in comparison to the economy that the middle class loses over half their income to taxes.

You and the title say that the lawsuit is to elimiate political competition.

However if one reads past the headline, one would see that the Nebraska GOP is claiming that the other party is breaking state law.

EU/Germany anyone???

Oh geez, stop.
