Iran Continues to Trash U.S., Claims No Peace Talks
Breitbart ^ | 7 Aug, 2026 | JOHN HAYWARD

Iranian officials continued to make disparaging comments about the United States and tout their plans to take permanent control of the Strait of Hormuz on Friday, even as the White House remains optimistic about an imminent “deal” that would end the conflict in the Middle East and secure safe passage for shipping.

Iranian parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf on Friday mocked President Donald Trump for constantly backing down from his threats to launch a “massive attack” and claiming Iran wants to make a deal.

“‘Massive attack coming… wait, never mind, they want to negotiate.’ That’s theater diplomacy on loop,” he jeered in a post on X.

“Using bullying + broken promises + fake news as leverage is a failed strategy,” he said.

“Acknowledge the facts and fulfill your commitments. We don’t need more theater,” he demanded.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian claimed on Friday that Iran was developing “closer ties” with its neighbors — most of which it has been showering with missile and drone attacks.

Goldie Ghamari is an Iranian expat, opposition leader and former Canadian Politician.

She is working tirelessly to restore the Monarchy to Iran. She is a dedicated opponent of the dirty robes clerics in charge of Iran.

Her message is stark: they won’t back down, they won’t negotiate unless it’s to their advantage, they are radicals bent on destroying us.

All that will work is force and if we want permanent peace we have to kill them, all of their leaders. Thanks Jimmy Carter.

Here is one of her many vids: short

The Iranians are doing a very bad faith negotiating tactic to try to humiliate President Trump, make him look like a powerless fool and bait him into lashing out so he loses the November elections

And if comments here on Freerepublic are indicative of the success of that strategy then Iran is making progress

President Trump’s team has been using his seemingly erratic and rather annoying messaging as part of a very well thought out and very effective psych warfare campaign to successfully achieve a wide number of policy goals but he his rhetoric is annoying a lot of people in an election year

If things keep going in the same direction he runs a very real risk of alienating voters

Hopefully, the recent air strikes will remove the Iranian threat to the Persian Gulf shipping to remove Irans antics from the media cycle

The arrogance dripping from the ‘opposing view’ guy on that video is disgusting.

As you point out, it is all part of a strategy. He has been put into this position specifically because other Presidents have not addressed what has needed to be addressed in Iran for decades.

Listen to their arrogant rhetoric now when they have been decimated by the US, and imagine how bad it would be if they had nuclear weapons.

Seems to be no other way to get Iran’s attention. Those controlling Iran know they have no position to stand on if they admit they are wrong;have been wrong for a long time.

This is probably more aimed at Iranian people than anyone else. They need to keep regular people afraid of the government.

Tell the Saudis, etc., that either they work with us on maximum effort by all means short of taking and HOLDING ground, to knock out and or smother remaining Iranian missile capacity, OR, we will provide no further support for their defense, now and in the future. No weapons, no forces, no tech, no attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities (bluff), no advisers...

Then take out, very specifically, Iran’s distillation towers, major storage of refined products, and any import terminals for refined products. (Note that virtually ALL of Iran’s refined products go to internal consumption.) Most of this can be done with cheap Ukie style drones, in a couple days at most.

Let’s see how the mullahs and IRGC do, trying to run and control Iran, with no refined products.

From Day One, Trump needed to directly attack the IRGC army and IRGC police.

Kill as many as possible - every day.

As it stands, the IRGC dictatorship is invincible against un-armed, disorganized, Iran citizens.

Unfortunately, America’s best KIA during this now five month long “psych warfare campaign” are not rhetoric.

Yep, after the midterms, the gloves come off. We just need to make sure we get out and vote.

I’ve seen that Indian guy in other contexts.

I don’t really get his angle.

On the jump he sounds like a 1950’s anti colonial.

But he doesn’t make sense for the modern world.

True, but it’s working on a lot of different fronts , especially economic. The President’s rhetoric is at least in part geared to deterring oil speculation price run ups

For example, the price of crude oil has been hovering around 76 dollars a barrel which has historically translated to $2.75 per gallon for gasoline at the pump in the US

If the we can maintain this price point in the run up to the November election then the US can economically and politically afford to keep Iran in a box indefinitely using isolation and sanctions to starve the IRGC from resources

At some level we are running out of high payoff, non civilian dual use targets to bomb in Iran and renewed massive bombing campaigns against infrastructure may not be the most productive way to destroy the IRGC

Gen Caine is no doubt looking at our options on the best way forward
