Abdul El-Sayed Wants Medicare for All ‘From Cradle to Grave.’ His Psychiatrist Wife Doesn’t Accept Medicare—or Any Insurance at All.
Washington Free Beacon ^ | July 13, 2026 | Collin Anderson

Left-wing Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed supports universal health care through a single-payer "Medicare for All" system that would cover every American "from cradle to grave." His wife, psychiatrist Sarah Jukaku, does not take Medicare or any other insurance plan, forcing her patients to pay out of pocket for the services they receive. She also appears to have scrubbed a portion of the "Frequently Asked Questions" page on her website making clear that she does not accept insurance.

Jukaku, who has a medical degree from Columbia University and a masters from the University of Oxford, worked as co-chief of psychiatry at University of Michigan Health—which does accept Medicare—before starting her own Ann Arbor, Mich.-based practice, Mind Work Psychiatry, in 2024. The following March, Jukaku opted out of Medicare, records show, meaning she cannot bill the program and requires Medicare patients to pay out of pocket. The same goes for patients with private insurance plans, though they can often submit bills to their providers and recoup some of the costs.

Jukaku’s private practice and her financial arrangement with her patients stand in stark contrast to the vision El-Sayed has articulated on the campaign trail about the way the health care system should work.

Ah, so goes the believers in the ‘religion’ of lies, rape, misogyny, and third-century living standards.

MI might be getting a GOP senator after a long, long drought. A state that voted Trump three times in a row, plus just don’t see the masses turning out for the unhinged muzzie.

A lot of very good doctors just don’t take insurance. We normally have a minimal high deductible policy with HSA and pay out of pocket.

My good doctor. Why do you bother us with facts? How good would ‘No Medicare for All’ work out for us? Our ideas are better but explaining them gets too confusing for those that tune in just 3 weeks before election day.

Let’s hope the paid party heads know what they’re doing.

For those who studied Hillarycare in detail - the penalty for a doctor treating a patient “outside the system for a fee” was 5 years in prison and/or a $50,000 fine per offense.

You can bet Medicare for all will carry similar or worse penalties.

Rust belt states that went for Trump did so because lots of Democrats voted for him in those states.

Most of those voters would die before they voted for a normal Republican.

The unfunded liability for Medicare over the next 75 years is estimated at about 48 trillion dollars - and that’s assuming it’s available only to geezers. Imagine that shortfall if that program was applied to everyone - and then imagine the outcry when the unfunded liabilities in Social Security catch up with that program in the next five years.

“From Cradle to Grave”. The Grave is going to happen a lot sooner for everyone if he gets his way.

Under the Al Sayid plan, Doctors ( including I presume his wife ), MUST accept Medicare or face suspension of their license to practice. I’ve seen this movie in other countries before.

His wife, psychiatrist Sarah Jukaku, does not take Medicare or any other insurance plan, forcing her patients to pay out of pocket for the services they receive.

Good for her. It probably saves patient’s money since she no longer has to bear the cost of complying with insurance regulations. She can be transparent about her fees and even reduce them if she chooses. More and more doctors are going to what is known as concierge medicine which may or may not include accepting insurance.

Most likely patients are still free to file their own insurance and be reimbursed for covered services. That is how it used to work.

Meh! Just tack it onto the existing $120T+ illegal, unconst, Ponzi SS/MediXYZ unfunded liabilities ledger (pretty soon, we’re talking REAL $$).

We won’t even get into the Constitutional authority debate (HINT: There is ZERO authority) that should be 1st & foremost, but NEVER broached.

There will be exclusions for spouses and family members of the communist politburo.
