Rubio to ICC: Hands Off the United States — Oh, And We're Shutting You Down
PJ Media ^ | 13 July 2026 | Sarah Anderson

"Independence is our birthright. We don’t intend to trade it for rule by a self-appointed priesthood of 'international law.'" — Marco Rubio

The International Criminal Court (ICC) is going down. At least, it is if Secretary of State Marco Rubio has anything to do with it.

"Most of us would struggle to imagine a world in which U.S. soldiers, police officers, Border Patrol agents, and elected leaders could be dragged before an international court, tried by judges from random countries across the globe, found guilty under international laws we neither consent to nor control, and then imprisoned thousands of miles from America," Rubio wrote in an op-ed that appeared in the Wall Street Journal on Monday. "But that is what the International Criminal Court now claims the power to do."

If you're unfamiliar, the ICC, which is located in The Hague, Netherlands, was established in 2002 under the Rome Statute to handle the absolute worst crimes in the world, like genocide. It claims it can investigate people of any nation if it feels their own government won't, and the United States has never bought into this ridiculous idea that is simply a globalist slippery slope.

The ICC has zero moral, legal credibility and operates as a star chamber for the worst kind of reprobate evil.

There is no sane reality where the ICC or those who support it should ever have an iota of input into America, or any sovereign western government. In fact, they should all be imprisoned for life as they have taken away the rights of many without authority under the color of the canard of international law.

Much of international law amounts to the desire of petty tyrants attempts to hamstring nations they can’t directly oppress, the main target now being the USA. We have a constitution, anything else is a violation of an American’s God given rights.

Treaties traditional / historical borders and negotiations are the mechanics for boundaries and legal interactions between sovereign nations NOTHING ELSE!

When those fail there is of course war, undesirable but still better than this ICC abomination, there is no justice in such a self-appointed court of wannabe “masters of the world.”

The post-WWII world order may have started off decently, but over the course of decades it has degraded into an abomination. The Trump Admin is really tearing down the whole globalist edifice. We are sovereign. We have economic power. We have military power. The rest of the world wants to use us and abuse us and exercise power over us. The Trump Admin isn’t playing those games anymore. We are the Big Dog and we are acting like it.

Insofar as the International Criminal Court has declared that it has jurisdiction over the United States, it has declared war against the United States of America.

I honestly would be all for arresting forcibly all the ICC and locking them in Gitmo until we can try them for attempting to violate US citizen’s sovereignty.

Might take a long time to get such a trial organized and started but I am ok with that.

Seriously I am literally for this, it is the only message that would put a stop to this nonsense.

It is not the “International Criminal Court”. It is the EU Court and has nothing to do with us or anyone else outside of Europe. Now if they want to arrest our folks and try them, we can certainly do the same to them. We have our own damn laws and don’t need the Europeans to dictate to us. That is why we left.

What gives President Trump’s America First policy moral high-ground is not the fact that we are the big dog, but rather the fact that he expects and encourages the leaders of other nations to put their countries first as well.

Kudos to Rubio, but the real truth is that international law is nothing but a leftist fantasy anyway. International treaties and agreements can only be ultimately enforced by military action on the part of the great powers. If the international law runs counter to the interest of the great powers, it won’t be enforced. Ultimately states are sovereign and institutions like the ICC only have any real power if sovereign states allow them to.

Just put the miserable thing out of its misery. Its a disaster with no purpose. It was put in place at a time when naive people held on to the delusion that a new post-war world could be built where a court like this theoretically could put national interests aside and legislate morally. That was a fantasy. Just shut it down.

No, you miss the point. The moral high ground exists only if the impacted have a say in what is going on.

The ICC is not chosen/authorized by any American. So, their findings have no moral standing.

Pi$$ on them.

“But that is what the International Criminal Court now claims the power to do.”

Then we have failed to drop enough bombs in a timely enough fashion.
