The New York Times said on Saturday that the U.S. Department of Justice had ordered several of its journalists to testify before a federal grand jury after they reported on security concerns involving President Donald Trump's new Qatari-donated Air Force One.
The media organization said subpoenas were issued on Friday, asking that the journalists appear before a grand jury on Wednesday to testify "in regard to an alleged violation of federal criminal law."
...in some cases delivered to reporters' homes by federal agents, the news outlet reported. It described the move as "an extraordinary escalation in President Trump's efforts to threaten and intimidate independent news organizations."
In a statement to Reuters, a Department of Justice spokesperson did not confirm or deny the subpoenas but said the administration was not targeting reporters but was concerned about people leaking classified information.

Could some of the old counter measures been replaced with new better ones?
Well unless the reporters were allowed access to classified materials in order to write the report I honestly can’t see Trump’s DOJ is pursuing them.
It’s never a good thing - no matter the political party in power - to subpoena press to reveal their sources. Maybe that’s not what’s happening?
For the umpteenth time, it’s not Trump’s plane. Qatar started proceedings to donate the plane under the Biden administration. It doesn’t go with Trump after he leaves office, but the ghouls writing these stories won’t let facts get in the way of their chance to bash Trump.
Interrogating an idiot reporter that leaks obviously classified material is entirely appropriate. There should be consequences. This will cost taxpayers big money and it could have cost the life of a sitting president. The reporter must reveal their source and probably be fined too. If not some jail time. That is not an appropriate story.
Let them ride in the unarmed decoy jet while Trump and his staff ride in the other. Then take the "journalists" to different places sometimes. Like low and slow over Iran. With a robot pilot, of course.
The reporter did not leak - the leaker leaked.
Actually, it is a great idea when they egregiously cross the line and try to get the President killed. This is not a small transgression. This is a matter of National security. I would say the same if it was Biden or Obama's plane.
Then just "accompany" them instead. ;-)
I seriously doubt the problem is lack of defensive measures.
IMHO, it’s more likely that someone dropped the ball and allowed the plane to be serviced by Turkish technicians, and they just didn’t know the condition of the airplane, and out of an abundance of caution, they advised the President to use another airplane with a known service history.
It’s like losing track of a piece of evidence in a criminal case.

They probably should not have taken the plane to Turkey at all until the upgrades are finished, but Trump may have insisted.

The fact that the Trump Administration has any trust in the press is disappointing, but this will be viewed as an attack on the Press.
The SS has already proven its incompetence.
Who cares how the left views it? They have already proven that they would call anything an attack on the press or whomever anyway. Let them scream. They have zero credibility and most normal people would see this for what it was, an attempt to undermine the security of the President by telling our adversaries how to kill the President while Iran claims there is a one-hundred-million dollar reward to kill Trump.
First - hang the person who leaked the story - then prosecute any news agency that reports serious national security issues that could lead to the death of our President.
