Like many Democrats, I patiently wait for the party to find ways to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. The upcoming 2026 midterms have instilled the same amount of dread in me as in previous elections. It seems that the Democrats love to hate President Trump, but they don't seem to offer any practical solutions on how they would do things better.
It has been beaten to death that the rise of so-called democratic socialists is a result of Democrats' impotence. I don't have to remind you that the constant failures of Democrats in Washington has led to voters (especially young voters) turning to candidates who proudly wear the title of socialist while trumpeting populist policies.
But pushing aside the Red Scare run-for-the-hills rhetoric, there needs to be a serious discussion. Are these so-called democratic socialists actually socialists? And do we really want socialism in America? Like the Beatles song "Revolution" said — "If you go carrying pictures of Chairman Mao, You ain't gonna make it with anyone anyhow." If these candidates truly view themselves as socialists, then the answer should be an unequivocal no.

As with most communists, they don’t want anything but power. The move to socialism is the vehicle they’ll use to get to power. The public is indoctrinated enough and the media/entertainment complex is all in for communism.

Hate to break it to this author, but there are lots and lots and lots of people who have no place, and no business being in, America. This includes many democrats and all illegal aliens and their anchor babies.

Socialism sounds like fairness.
Everyone is equal.
From those according to their ability, to those according to their need.
Dumbed down people are easily lured into that trap.

If the US military ever needs a million bullet stoppers, they just need city-slicker oriented marketing: free food, housing, medical care, clothes, shoes, haircuts, travel, vaccine injections, massive centralized planning and bureaucracy, shared class, equal pay, almost nobody gets rich, and endless opportunities to violently destroy other people's nice things. And in the no category: no free speech, no individualism, no dissent, no ownership. Of course the military has little use for these grifters, but might take a sadistic interest in giving these un-Americans exactly what they persistently vote for.
