There’s a seeming paradox at the epicenter of the political earthquake that hit New York City on Tuesday night, when a trio of Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and Zohran Mamdani–backed candidates triumphed in congressional primaries across the city. The progressive candidates who claim to represent a working-class revolution won thanks to the votes of the well-educated, credentialed, and affluent, while low-income New Yorkers tended to back the more moderate candidate. The results reflect a nationwide political reality: Across the country, higher education and income increasingly correlate with progressive voting, while working-class voters—including in long-established immigrant communities—opt for more moderate choices.

Being ‘educated’ doesn’t give the power leverage they expected it would so now it is time to appeal to government for their ‘rightful place.’
For rich leftists Socialism is virtue signaling and do not care what the cost is to the actual poor.
Hipster commies.
“Socialism” gives more power to the government, and the leftie billionaires can buy these pols cheap, and then these lefties will do whatever the narrative of the day is.
Easy to control.
It always was. For example, Engels subsidized Marx.
I’m highly educated (Harvard PhD), and would never vote for the extremist socialists/communists!
And I still believe that the wacko NYC socialist candidates are merely the backdrop for the “AOC for President” campaign!
Some people just want to watch the world burn...
Power lust.
If you go to the wide audience with that assertion, I guarantee you they'll be able to find lots of "the puur" who are more than willing to tell the world that they are all for "socialism's rise."
Also to have regulations that are harder to afford for smaller companies and in that way, reduce competition.
Socialism, in real life, is a wealth transfer from the less to the more. The rich aren’t paying for socialism, because they removed their income from being taxed by changing it to revenue. Socialism is being paid for by the poor and middle classes. It’s all about keeping them from building wealth.
They are not usually impacted. But, keeping the riff raff at bay.......
Agree.
Not surprising.
There’s that.
You got it. Socialism is a way for those with government connections to protect their positions from smart and ambitious middle class kids who want to rise.
Darializa For Congress
What We Are Fighting For
Everyday, we see more & more of our neighbors pushed out of our community because of rising costs & a political establishment that has sold us out.
We’re fighting to stay here and live full, dignified lives in the city we call home.
Darializa will sign onto these bills to secure housing as a human right, universal healthcare, union protections, a $15 minimum wage and more.
Darializa will fight to abolish the deportation machine, expand pathways to citizenship, secure free legal representation for immigrants, and more.
Darializa will fight to divest the billions of taxpayer dollars we spend on senseless wars abroad, and invest those funds in child tax credits, baby bonds, and more.
Darializa will fight to protect all tenants, fully fund Section 8, fully fund NYCHA, prevent deed theft, and build affordable housing.
Darializa will fight for Medicare for All: a free, universal system that covers primary and mental health care, dental, vision, hearing, reproductive care, long-term care, and lower prescription costs.
Darializa will fight to protection workers’ rights, increase union density, raise the minimum wage, fund social security, to create and protect job opportunities, and more.
Darializa will fight for our right to free, quality public education from childcare to college. She will support and defend teachers, graduate students, and other education workers.
Darializa will never take money from corporate PACs, and will fight against monopolies, price gouging, and super PACs.

And how will you pay for all that, Darializa?
They are on top. They want to stay there without worrying about any upstarts replacing them...
