Said Abdullahi Ereg, an international fugitive wanted in the Feeding Our Future fraud scandal, has returned from Kenya to America to face justice.
U.S. Attorney Daniel Rosen announced Ereg’s arrest this afternoon at a press conference in downtown Minneapolis. Your correspondent was there.
The press release can be found here.
You will recall that just last week the FBI placed Ereg on their newly-created most-wanted fraudster list. Apparently, that was enough to prompt Ereg to arrange for his return to Minnesota, by way of London, England. Rosen reports that Ereg surrendered to federal agents at the airport today. Ereg remains in custody, pending his initial court appearance,

Ereg is defendant No. 61 in the food fraud, along with his wife, Najmo Ahmed, No. 62. Together, they operated the Evergreen Grocery in south Minneapolis and allegedly stole more than $4 million from the free-food program in 2020 and 2021.
Evergreen was one of the original operators red-flagged by the state Dept. of Education (MDE) back in April 2020, as documented in court filings,
Both Ereg and his wife were indicted in January 2024. Ahmed returned later that year and pled guilty to fraud last year. She is scheduled to be sentenced in her case next week.
In other Feeding Our Future news, you will recall the report from Monday regarding efforts by the U.S. Dept. of Justice to strip 17 naturalized American citizens of their citizenship.
The Minneapolis Star Tribune confirms that the Minnesota Man on the list, Abdulkadir Kadiye, is the same man indicted in the Feeding Our Future case (No. 55). Kadiye pled guilty in the case and awaits sentencing.

Now feed him to a wood-chipper
Did Tim Walz and Keith Ellison help him escape?
The feds need to go after those two - hard - for being complicit with all the fraud. I’m convinced those two knew about it all along.
String his muzzie azz up!
Of course they did. It’s been documented. So did Ilhan Omar. She set it all up.
It’s only a matter of time.....................
American taxpayers want our due process. Lynch his thieving azz.
Hope so - b/c if it isn’t done soon, like before the mid-terms or especially before the 2028 election - all of it will be dropped.
Keep peeling back the onion and prosecute every last one of them and everyone involved.
The architecture of the fraud happens to be the politicians and bureaucrats. Chasing around the bagmen is just theater designed to take the heat off of the real culprits.
Props to him for coming back on his own accord.
Appropriate trial, verdict, sentence, and restitution should follow.
This is how they work, start at the low level, get a plea deal for testimony for the next level up.............
All members in good standing of the Society of Mayflower Descendants and Daughters of the American Revolution.
Doing the crimes American won’t commit.
/s, right?
should’ve just hell-fire missile’ed his ass in Somalia and saved the cost of the trial.
Maybe afraid of what might happen to him if he didn’t. Our prisons are pretty nice compared to Kenya with a bounty on your head.
Could do the same thing with Omar's brother. She's the one who married him.
probably with a red flag Interpol notice on him so he can’t hide.
