Nassau County Executive and New York State gubernatorial hopeful Bruce Blakeman participated in the Israel Day Parade in New York City on Sunday, expressing support for Israel and voicing concern over rising antisemitism in New York.
Speaking to Arutz Sheva-Israel National News at the event, Blakeman said, "It's a source of pride for me to be here to celebrate my Jewish identity, to support the State of Israel, and to support American values, religious freedom."
Asked about the absence of mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani from the parade, Blakeman said he was "not at all bothered" by it.
"He's an antisemite. He's anti-Israel. So the fact that he's not here, good riddance," Blakeman stated.
Responding to a question about whether New York can be changed amid concerns that some Jews are considering leaving the state, Blakeman described himself as "a unifier."
"I bring people together, people of all races, religions, ethnic groups, people of all lifestyles and abilities. I've proven that I'm a unifier," he said. "That's what we need here in America. That's what we need in New York. We need politicians who don't divide based on class warfare, based on religion. We need elected officials who unify us with American values."
Blakeman also addressed public safety concerns in New York.

being a nice “unifier” was correct public policy a few years ago, before the Islamicist terrorist-supporting invasion.
Today, that dangerous bad seed element needs to be removed as Job priority One.
Then unify okay
David Dinkins was a “unifier,” too. Somehow, people were considerably less unified after he left office, and that was before the Islamicists became a major thing.
Mr. Rogers was a “unifier” in his neighborhood, which was a monarchy with a subway train and some hand puppets. No race riots, no vicious attacks on synagogues or old ladies getting thrown on subway tracks. This guy’s only plus is that he’s not Hochul, but he is either full of sh!t, or lives in a fantasy world.
Antisemitism exists in NY because the entire state is now controlled by Democrats - Governor, Assembly, Senate, NY City, all Upstate Cities.
Given that, politics will naturally swing extremist and woke-marxist. A key simplistic slogan and rallying-cry for these people is anti-Israel, anti-Jew.
Mamdani, who I consider as a foreign agent promoting political-Islam, is exhibit 1A. He arrived in the USA and mere 8 years later, was elevated / manipulated into position by a tiny radical political minority.
Break NY’s one-party, soviet-style political control, and anti-Semitism will be broken with it.
Obviously he has a handler. The question is who?
“anti-Semitism will be broken with it.”
Anti-Semitism has been with us for a long time before this. Lately, due to the one-party rule and all, it’s been on steroids. It may take a few years for the steroids to wear off.
Yes it has, and you will never change all hearts and minds
But now with one-party control, and its group-think identity and need for ideological enemies - institutional, legal, financial, political barriers within government have been removed. It's like shooting a cannonball down a long empty hallway. There will be nothing to block or deflect it.
I hope you’re right. I suspect it won’t be so easy.
Down South, after passing the Voting Rights Act and the Civil Rights Act, it took a few years for blacks to obtain the upward mobility and social respect that had previously been denied them. People change their habits of thought slowly.
Why are they considering leaving? This is what they voted for. Aren't they happy with the results?
I will bet real money that where ever they go they will still vote Democrat 75-25.
I will bet real money that they did not vote Democrat in New York. Jews are not monolithic in their voting habits. The more religious they are, the less they vote Democrat, with the exception of Satmar Chassidim, who are part of the Democrat machine. But Boro Park, Crown Heights, Flatbush, almost all Giuliani Republicans. And those that are leaving may well be part of that demographic, and did NOT vote for this sh!t show.
The Jews could fight anti semitism by voting republican but they don’t. Until they start voting republican en masse I could care less what happens to them.
Mamdani got the jew vote This guy will only get thinking jews’ vote: i.e. not that many.
As I’ve already explained, “the jew vote” is not monolithic.
“Until they start voting republican en masse I could care less what happens to them.”
I see. And you’re a prime example of Republican sentiment./s
I’ve voted for Trump three times, but people like you make me less inclined, not more, to vote Republican. You want people to vote for you, you earn it. Not the other way around. Shmuck.
If they are not interested in their own self preservation, we should leave them to their fate.
As if we’re depending on you anyway. This is not even virtue signaling on your part.
3,500 years later, what’ll we do? Nonliberal is “leaving them to their fate”. Get a grip. Neither you nor Hochul are any of that. We have a much more reliable ally.
