hree months after a ramming incident near the town of Ataret in the Binyamin region left two Jewish Israelis injured, the legal aid organization Honenu revealed that one of the two Arab passengers in the suspected vehicle is a released terrorist.
The disclosure has intensified criticism by the organization against the Israeli security establishment, after the IDF and ISA reportedly declined to classify the incident as a nationalist vehicular attack. Instead, the case was transferred to the police traffic division and investigated as a routine traffic accident.
The incident occurred during Ramadan, when a Jewish couple was riding an ATV along the roadside near Ataret. According to the victims’ testimony, an approaching Arab vehicle noticed them, accelerated, sharply veered out of its lane, crossed into the opposite lane and struck them at the side of the road.
As a result of the collision, the young woman riding on the ATV was thrown approximately seven meters into a nearby wadi and sustained serious injuries.
Despite the victims’ account, the suspects in the vehicle were not arrested. Traffic investigators reportedly collected statements from them at the scene but did not detain them for further questioning.
Following the revelation regarding one of the passengers, attorney Haim Bleicher of Honenu sent an urgent letter to Central Command chief Avi Bluth and to the commander of the Judea and Samaria Police District, demanding the immediate arrest of the two suspects and the transfer of the investigation to the ISA.
In the letter, Bleicher warned that the continued failure to arrest the suspects poses “an immediate danger to the security of Israeli civilians and security forces in the area."
He also sharply criticized the conduct of the authorities, writing, “The system's avoidance of investigating the terrorists constitutes a failure and a serious security danger....

On another road, wonderful family man was driving along, and teenagers were chucking pebbles at his car. He took out a club of some sort to teach the whipersnappers a lesson, scare them off, and he was run down by a passing truck, which backed up and ran over him again and again.I saw the non-sanitized pictures, later taken down. This is getting old. Four incidents out of five in Judah and Samaria, which I doubt would stand real scrutiny. Not impressed.
Jihadi terror incidents have been ongoing for over a hundred years, counting from 1921, but starting long before that. Try the Damascus blood libel and region-wide pogroms in 1841. Sometimes daily, sometimes with multiple fatalities, you have Jihadi terror. Sometimes prolonged campaigns that predate the declaration of a Jewish state.

When a Muslim runs over Jews in Paducah, it’s a targeted attack. When a Muslim runs over Jews in Israel, you need to look for other evidence before deciding it’s more than a traffic accident. Obviously, having thrown a huge rock seems to easily be other evidence.
Traffic accidents do happen, and if they happen in Israel, there’s a good chance that the victims will be Jewish.

There was an inexperienced woman driver who couldn’t go fast yet, so some terrorists got in a car, drove alongside her, and emptied their AK. Probably didn’t know what hit her, died instantly. That, I think, was classified as a terror attack right off.
But they will fudge. Not just in Israel, either. Young man, Mendy Halberstam, was driving in the Rebbe’s entourage back into Brooklyn, I think via the Manhattan Bridge, and a terrorist opened fire on him, killing him after a few days in a coma. He’s in a better place. His mother never recovered from the shock. NYPD classified it as a traffic DISPUTE! Eventually, they had to change it to what it truly was, pre-meditated murder, probably aimed at the Rebbe, who was in Manhattan for eye surgery. But instead they settled on killing this pleasant young man with a winning smile.
Then there was the LAX shooter, shortly after 9/11. That took them long enough. At first they were claiming the poor snackbarian was having a bad hair day, so stopped at LAX and started shooting.

Law enforcement generally tends to be reluctant to call a terror incident a terror incident.
For that matter, how long did the news media take to acknowledge that Trump had been shot!
They dragged their feet, just like they tried to gas light that Charlie Kirk was supposedly shot by a right-wing MAGA guy.
In fairness, llaw enforcement’s reticence might reflect a desire to make sure that an incident was terror-motivated. But the perp in this case accelerated, crossed lanes, and came right after the elderly couple, causing a head-on collision, throwing the woman from the vehicle. Motive’s pretty clear. Aloha Snackbar.
