How ‘Progressive’ K-12 Education Promotes Bigotry in California
New York Post ^ | April 2, 2026 | Mitch Siegler and David Smokler

Jewish students and educators in K-12 schools across the country are experiencing a surge of antisemitism, often in proudly “progressive” communities.

In those environments, antisemitism is often perceived as a solely right-wing phenomenon that conjures up images of Groyper bros hoisting tiki torches and chanting “Jews will not replace us.”

There is little to no awareness of how progressive movements have become fertile ground for a hypocritical form of the world’s oldest hatred. Far-left groups like the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), which have gained influence in teachers unions, are rooted in anti-Westernism, anti-Americanism, anti-capitalism, and anti-Zionism – all of which often lead to antisemitism.

Ever wonder what things would look like if civilization had been created by really stupid people?

In Judaism, the concept of the “chosen people” (am segulah) refers to the belief that God entered into a covenant with the Israelites, tasking them with a specific mission to be a “light unto the nations” and exemplify divine law, rather than implying superiority. This status is considered an enduring, purposeful responsibility rather than an exclusive reward.

What good are the smart people if they allow the stupid people to send a country into a death spiral?

You need a particularly high level of intelligence to do spectacularly stupid things. It’s like gravity that way.

Germany was a country known for producing outstanding thinkers, scholars and scientists, and then in 1933 they let the National Socialists take over. It took other countries at an immense cost in lives to free Germany from that regime.

But nobody wants to abolish the Department of Education.

So we must continue to let the progressives win the realm of indoctrinating our children.

It’s not that the progressives have earned to win it. They just win by default because big government remains unchallenged.

I wish it were different but that seems a realistic sobered assessment.
