President Trump signaled Wednesday morning that a second round of peace talks between the U.S. and Iran could be coming in the next “36 to 72 hours,” a day after he indefinitely extended a ceasefire in the conflict.
“It’s possible!” Trump reportedly wrote in a text message to the New York Post when asked about the possibility of resuming negotiations soon.
Vice President Vance was set to travel to Islamabad to represent the U.S. in another round of talks mediated by Pakistan, but the White House delayed the trip as Tehran refused to commit to participating. Special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law, were expected to join him.

- Destroy or take the U-235
- Destroy Iran's ability to project power outside its own borders
Mister President, there is no negotiation and no deal that will accomplish those goals.
And failure to accomplish those goals will ensure we have to fight a nuclear war with Iran 10-20 years hence.
Perfect! Great starting material for another Friday silliness thread!
In other military news,
JUST IN: Navy Secretary John Phelan departs Trump’s administration.
Undersecretary Hung Cao is taking over as active Secretary of the Navy.
The Iranian people have a vote too, M.
While you’re busy for the next 20-30 years worrying and furrowing your brow, the Iranian people might choose to shrug off their thugocracy and re-join the community of non-psychotic sovereign nations.
BREAKING: Senate Republicans stopped an Iran War Powers Resolution 51-46.
Democrat John Fetterman voted with Republicans; Republican Rand Paul voted with Democrats.
I’m honestly wondering if some of these announcements are part of Trump’s “Art of the Deal” approach.
If they are not - then I think he’s talking too much.
Meanwhile, looks like “The Bull” will replace whom I imagine Trump will now refer to as Navy Secretary Failin’:

anyone who thinks the IRGC & the Mullahs will surrender in 8 days is crazy. Absent taking them all out, the can will just be kicked down the road for some other guy to fix, unless the IRGC nukes us first.
Rand Paul IS a Democrat
P, Iran’s ability to harvest and sell oil on the international market, or even just to China and India, is vanishing before the eyes of the IRGC and the mullahs.
You’re certainly aware that Iran is running out of places to store the oil they are pumping. When they run out, pumping must obviously cease. If pumping ceases, water will tend to seep into the oil-bearing rock of Iran’s oil fields, a process that is extremely hard to reverse and can permanently contaminate parts of the reservoir.
In other words, Iran will soon transmogrify into a resource-starved third-world country, with no cash to export to foreign terrorist groups, no advanced military capabilities, and no money to pursue deranged nuclear dreams.
How long do you think the IRGC and the mullahs can last in that environment?
Thx CFW
Somebody gets it.
This job must be finished.
“How long do you think the IRGC and the mullahs can last in that environment?”
Longer than Hamas, whom they trained.
And nobody is even considering digging them out of their holes.
Oil money is their oxygen.
They’re going to suffocate.
Excellent.
Carry on Mr. President 🇺🇸👍
Let me guess, Friday, after the markets have closed?
How long do you think the IRGC and the mullahs can last in that environment?

Since they all will be in deep underground bunkers [ which they have been restocking during 47’s unilateral halt ], they should be able to last for many years, certainly they can outlast 47.
They can proceed to make more of the North Korean ICBM they got and more enriched uranium, until they are ready to mount warheads and fire them off - principally at the US ...
They are religious fanatics whose greatest wish is death, and to bring as many people as possible to Paradise with them - preferably the entire human race.
And you imagine they give a rat’s ass about money?
“...deep underground bunkers...”
Saves the time and expense of a respectful burial.
Nice thought, but they have all the heavy machinery they need to dig out, to open launchers, to fire their thousands of remaining missiles. There are many graphics that show how those sites work. You should look for them.
