Republican strategist Karl Rove said Thursday that Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger (D) is going through a “bad start” as she experiences some rocky polling.
“Well, it’s a bad start, remember, she won 58-42 last November,” Rove said on Fox News’s “America’s Newsroom.” “She said in that tape that you had that it was a 17-point swing, it’s actually a 9-point swing. The last Democrat, Terry McAuliffe, had 49 percent four years earlier,” Rove said, referencing the Virginia governor from 2014-18.
“The poll shows her 46 approve, 47 disapprove, and that’s, you know, 12 points less than what she got on Election Day, and it is the highest disapproval rating — at this point — since this poll began in 1994. No Virginia governor has been in as bad a shape so quickly as Spanberger,” he added.
In a poll from The Washington Post and the Schar School of Policy and Government, Spanberger’s approval rating among voters was 47 percent and her disapproval rating was 46 percent. Seven percent had no opinion.
Political scientist Larry Sabato recently said that Spanberger’s fall in voter approval was “stunning” only months into her first term as Virginia governor.
“A drop of that margin is stunning, and it should be greatly disturbing to the governor and the governor’s staff if it’s repeated in other surveys,” Sabato told ABC 7 News.

Rove..? Thought he was dead.
The ugly AWFL SpunkBurger is a nasty shit sandwich that even the Communist Party USA! will eventually regret ever biting into....
Just another communist AWFL doing awful things to America.
I guess it’s a side point. But I’m surprised Fox (or anyone else) is still booking Karl Rove. The guy is dull and - for many conservatives - discredited.
🙁
He just smells that way.
She just made the assault weapon ban worse by asking for alterations, which will have to be changed by the legislature and so delaying the eventual passage of the bill until after the gerrymander amendment vote. The alterations she asked for make it more strict and more encompassing. It’s being portrayed as “softening” of the bill, but it is the exact opposite as far as I can tell.
The idea is to make sure marginally politically aware citizens don’t question why the “No Kings” party is the one that’s very focused on disarming the citizenry.
Freegards
As if she cares.
Karl Rove; a blast from the past!
Did he bring his whiteboard?
Everything is the opposite of what she (democrats) say.
A “bad start”?
Demonrats exist beyond shame. She holds the office, democrats are increasing their power and do not intend to get voted out. Does this clown Rove think she cares about a negative poll?
They own the corrupt voting machine, and Thune is ensuring the SAVE act won’t pass. And it should have passed a year ago. Even if it passes now, it will get tied up in court and not come into play this year.
But sure CIA Abigail had a bad year.... Ok Rove. Ok...
Bad start for Spamburger??? What about the citizens?
She may be polling badly now Rove but she’s gotten 120% of the Democrat agenda enforced in the legislature in just 4 months you ignorant twit.
Rove sounds disappointed
This is a tried and true strategy that has worked for demonicRATS for decades if not centuries. Create misery and than campaign on solving the misery. Works every time. Thank you, government run schools.

“Bricks thrown through your window? Call Al’s Glass!”
Heh heh. Zackly.
The only White I want to see is the chalk outline around his Fat Body. 🐷
But wait, there’s more! From the Washington Examiner:”Virginia will award its presidential electoral votes to the winner of the national popular vote under a bill signed into law by Gov. Abigail Spanberger (D-VA) on Monday, marking a significant shift in how the state participates in presidential elections.”
I thought so too. Wasn't his nickname Turdblossom or something like that?
I believe you are correct.
