... The newspaper cited former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett as publicly calling Turkey a threat to Israel last week and accusing Ankara of aligning with a hostile regional bloc. Bennett warned Israel could not “turn a blind eye” to Turkey, adding that Tel Aviv must counter threats from both Tehran and Ankara...

Wouldn’t surprise me at all:
“As Iran’s ‘Shiite Crescent’ weakens under regional and internal pressures, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s Neo-Ottoman ambitions are filling the void.”
“A Sunni Revival Under Turkey’s Banner
Into this vacuum steps Turkey, a Sunni-majority state with historic ties across the Arab world. Erdoğan’s Neo-Ottomanism—a blend of strategic pragmatism and historical ambition—is positioning Ankara to become the leader of a pan-Sunni bloc.

How many Polacks does it take to hate the Jews?
Works for me.
Neither the Israel or Turkish government view each other as threats.
That is a genuine quote from Naftali Bennett though. I have read similar in other sources.

LOL. I picked up this source for convenience - it quotes from a number of other articles which are paywalled.
The current Islamonazi thug in charge of Turkey is a grave threat in several important ways. He’s invaded or threatened every country or ethnic community within reaching his military. Greece. Cyprus. Syria. Kurds. Armenians. He’s positioned himself with terrorists in Sudan, Somalis, Libya, and Israel (Hamas in the Gaza district). He’s tried to provoke wars with Israel on several occasions or supported those attempting to do so. The biggest danger may be that we have a military base with nukes there. In my opinion, we should base our nukes in much safer countries.
When the US leaves NATO, it will be run by Turkey.
Whenever the European countries get out of line Ankara will call a domestic jihad.
In Brussels. And Paris, London Berlin and Rome.
Current ruler of Turkey is an unabashed Islamist.
Why is Turkey in NATO?
“Why is Turkey in NATO?”
There is no mechanism in NATO to throw out a member. The way it would be done is to dissolve NATO and then reform it as a new organization.
I agree that Turkey is problematic under its current leadership. But fortunately, Turkey is an economic basket case. It will be a long time before Turkey is in a position to militarily hurt the rest of NATO.
Turkey and Iran have one thing in common-large Kurdish populations. Perhaps Greece and Israel should go to work on it. Don’t forget the 2 other countries with Kurdish enclaves. What are we waiting for?

Under Erdogan, yes.
Dream on. Israel won’t dare attack Turkey. Even if NATO didn’t get involved, Turkey is large, well armed, skilled and violent.
They would mop the floor with Tel Aviv.
“The biggest danger may be that we have a military base with nukes there”
I agree:
Ankara denies US military base in Türkiye had been struck by Iran

IMHO it has to do with the hopium that Europe has of a pipeline carrying natural gas from the middle east through Turkey into Europe so that Europe can disentangle from Russia's energy clutches. It may also be part of Europe's forever hatred of Israel (gotta hate Israel as much as the Muslim nations do if you're gonna get their energy).
“Turkey is the new Iran” says Israel's former prime minister Naftali Bennett
Bennett warns of ‘new Turkish threat,’ calls for Zionist unity
Turkey is a threat to Israel. But this will be played out on Syrian lands and maybe Cyprus and some of the gas pipelines. (But if they attack the gas infrastructure they get the ire of European recipients). Israel won’t attack Turkey and trigger Article 5, and Turkey won’t attack Israel and trigger its own booting from NATO. So unfortunately the Syrian government and it’s people will have to suffer as usual. Right now Syria backs the government AND has control over some land in the north, while Israel has defensive control of some land south of Damascus.
