All flights to and from El Paso International Airport in Texas have been halted for “special security reasons,” the Federal Aviation Administration said early Wednesday.
content. arrow “No pilots may operate an aircraft in the areas covered by this NOTAM,” the FAA said, using the abbreviation for Notice to Airmen. It listed the reason as “temporary flight restrictions for Special Security Reasons.”
It will be interesting to see exactly what happened. Someday.
Well the prayer Apparently worked. According to another poster, airspace reopened.
Cartels flying ROVs/drones in controlled airspace. We should locate their operating bases and vaporize all of them.
It has reopened. FAA claims drones were in the area, but 10 days closure for that?
Mexican drones. They had to shoot some out of the air over the airport I guess.
Can anyone put some roads or communities under that area on the left, the portion of the Organ mountains so that we can make out the area better?
First I’ve heard of this...
Depends on what the drones were up to, I suspect.
If they were smuggling and in the way, that’s one thing.
If they were big boys looking to crash into the engine of a plane if Trump attacks them, it’s another.
To me, this sounds like “Cartels threatened to bring down planes unless Trump promises not to attack.”
How to they go from 10 days to 0 days in 10 minutes.
I Imagine someone in northern Mexico made a phone call and said “Sorry.”
I wonder if it could be related to the Guthrie case.?
I was right, it was a cartel drone that encroached on US airspace....it was nuetralized.
It was reported Russia had made significant deliveries of weapons to Venezuela, shortly before the exfiltration event. Apparently as many as 7000 Colombians have served as paid volunteers to the Ukraine Army since Feb. 2022. I think Trump had a serious talk with the new Mexican President, and told her something had to be done about the drug cartels.
Mafias and cartels don’t like to be threatened, and their natural reaction is to react, fight, and kill. Some of the most vicious murder events I have ever heard of have been carried out by Mexican cartels. Even worse than some of our US mass murder events at schools and clubs.
Cartels tend to use smaller planes for transporting drugs, than a lot of other potentially dangerous air transport.
I suspect our new military learned something about operational security from that Yeman mistake. I was empressed with how smoothly the Venezuela exfiltration was handled.
I’m going to see if some well versed war watchers have any useful suggestions about what you have described in your comment #23.
There’s another poster who heard the same thing at the same time from Midland coming from his or her West.
I’m in Ruidoso, NM.
Can anyone identify the bottled water in photo
