Democratic Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro has claimed in his forthcoming memoir that 2024 Democratic nominee Kamala Harris’ campaign asked him if he had ever worked as a “double agent for Israel” while vetting him as a potential running mate.
Shapiro, who is Jewish, wrote in “Where We Keep the Light” that he told his interrogator, former Biden White House counsel Dana Remus, that he found the question offensive and was told, “Well, we have to ask.”
According to the New York Times, which obtained an advance copy of Shapiro’s book, Remus then asked if the governor had ever “communicated with an undercover agent of Israel.”
“If they were undercover, I responded, how the hell would I know?” wrote Shapiro, who is thought by some observers to be a contender for the 2028 Democratic nomination.
Shapiro’s account of the questions posed by Remus refer to antisemitic tropes that Jewish politicians, and Jews in general, are more loyal to Israel than the US.
While the Keystone State governor declined to directly criticize Remus, who he said was “just doing her job,” Shapiro wrote that the line of questioning “said a lot about some of the people around the VP.”
“I wondered,” he admitted in the book, “whether these questions were being posed to just me — the only Jewish guy in the running — or if everyone who had not held a federal office was being grilled about Israel in the same way.”

Shapiro was a volunteer for the IDF
LOL. So Shapiro wrote a book. Gee, I wonder if he’s getting ready to launch a presidential bid in 2028? Josh, you may be a decent governor of a large, contested state, but the Dems will never nominate you because you are Jewish. Its that simple. All the puff piece books and interviews in the world won’t change that.
After that question, it should have been obvious to Shapiro that Kamala was not serious about becoming POTUS and had no chance of winning.
Of course he is.
Doesn’t this really contradict the liberal idea that we’re supposed to be open and tolerant and accepting of all people? We are not supposed to discriminate etc?
Seems to me this would offend the sensibilities of liberals, based on their own criteria, if any one would suggest that he should not be a presidential candidate, because of his religion.
Josh is who he is wouldn’t mind having him as a friend with whom I could have honest conversations.
This former Antisemite likes that kind of approach with Jewish people of all stripes.
What unifies Jewish people is the common cause of looking out for Israel First.
It is driven by the fear of the next Holocaust or Pogrom coming around to kill Jews.
To the person who rages about “Jews running the world” well the alternative as they see it is:

Hopefully his career will go no where in a party that hates the “Jew boy”. He is a lying, communist, opportunist. Supported arresting Mark Houck and put him in jail. Arrested and support the lockdowns in PA. He was the strong arm bully in the lockdown effort closing business not aligned with his boss WOLFIE. And supports Larry Krasner in philly.

“During high school, Shapiro spent five months studying and volunteering in Israel with his classmates, as part of a “service project” requirement, which they completed through “a program that took them to a kibbutz in Israel where he worked on a farm and at a fishery”.[14] The program also included service on an Israel Defense Forces base,[15] an experience he described as being “a past volunteer in the Israeli army”.[16] According to his spokesperson in 2024, Shapiro was “at no time engaged in any military activities”.[17][18]”
exactly - he put politics over telling the truth. now he tells the truth for a publisher’s advance and to knock out an anticipated opponent in 2028 race. and he is still a Democrat, not smart enough to feel the ugliness of antisemitism in the party he swears allegiance to. i prefer Fetterman - who tells it like it is even if he thinks he is still in the Dem party of the 90’s.
As disastrous as the Kamala Harris campaign was, the facts are that Shapiro volunteered in the IDF and worked as a public affairs officer in the Israeli Embassy. They also vetted JB Pritzker, but he was apparently never asked these questions, even though he too is Jewish.
Also, Kamala s husband, "Dougie," appears to be a very proud Jew. So if she is some raging anti-Semite, she has a funny way of showing it.
It's called vetting. It would have been malpractice not to have asked these questions.
