However, these radars did little to defend Venezuela against an impending attack. A military observer who writes on defense matters said on X: “In the 3 hr operation to capture/arrest Maduro, US forces not only proved Russian air defense useless but also proved Chinese technology useless. This is a Chinese promo for its JY-27 ‘anti-stealth’ radar, of which Venezuela bought 9, all of which failed to detect the incoming aircraft.”

“Some reports in local Taiwanese media claimed that the Chinese JYL-1 long-range surveillance radar and the JY-27A anti-stealth radar were unable to detect even a single US aircraft and were rendered inoperable during the attack due to electronic jamming.”

Executions may already have taken place as “corrective action.”

Like I’ve been saying for over a decade here, their shit doesn’t work.

Same with their stealth aircraft.

And noisy subs.

Taiwan officials see Trump's move for what it is -- a massive deterrent against Communist China.

Chinese defense systems failed Maduro.
Chinese oil supplies are compromised.
Chinese commitments in the Americas are in shambles.

U.S. defense tech outperformed. https://t.co/IFGfmXdLtY pic.twitter.com/eQENq1IEGG— Michael Lucci (@Michael7ucci) January 5, 2026

I think the question is what was ineffective? The technology or the operators or both?

oh definitely. The numbers that come out of China— their booming economy, their magnificent tech prowess ( fusion in ten years), their unstoppable navy/missles—- all bullshit.

In China, if you don’t give good numbers to your higher-ups, your corneas are on Ebay that night. They are sloppy. The scientist lady who spread the bat virus, they say she would go home at night with bat urine/ blood on her shoes at night. The chinese are quick and dirty. They always have to play catch-up.

Good news, but bravado is not in order. Chinese manufacturing capabilities greatly facilitate new development compared to our systems in which the real money is in MIL-Spec paperwork.

So we’re good for now, but I wouldn’t let that quell efforts to upend and disentangle our military procurement systems.

You’re evidence?

Is there any evidence that anyone even attempted to radar-paint, much less fire an AA missile at US planes?

We heard the same nonsense for 4 years regarding Ukraine - Russia is running out of missiles, Russia has to steal computer chips from washing machines, Patriots knock out 100% of missiles and drones, etc...

How is that working out for Ukraine today?

Propaganda leading to hubris creates a lot of danger

it’s not really propaganda when your presidente is on plane with hours of an attack. I’d say that was actually pretty okey dokey #1 quality. ( yeah, I speak chink)

We can’t build nuclear subs and are asking help from South Korea - that is how bad our procurements system is. My favorite example of nonsense during the GWOT was the construction effort to fortify the National Library of Medicine which was right there at the top of any respectable terrorists list of juicy targets. I hope Cheney’s construction buddies made a nice packet off of it because the construction went on for years disrupted traffic through Bethesda, and produced nothing of value for the rest of us.

The utter incompetence of our foreign policy/national security senior leadership leaving us, formerly the greatest seapower in the world, unchallengeable, with a less than adequate navy is just mindblowing. This started with GWHBs 1991 New World Order speech and really went downhill under Bush Cheney.
