Before we get into the weeds on the latest example of the Democrats becoming the party of, by, and for unstable white cat ladies, I must give a shoutout to the parents of Tennessee State Rep. Aftyn Behn (D-Knoxville) for naming their daughter so perfectly. If Charles Dickens were alive today and writing political satire set in the American South, he'd have named his crazy female character "Aftyn Behn."
Well played, Mr. and Mrs. Behn.
Behn first gained national attention last week, when we learned — courtesy of PJ Media's own Robert Spencer — that she "hates" the city she represents. "I hate the city,” she said, and “I hate the bachelorettes, I hate the pedal taverns, I hate country music, I hate all of the things that make Nashville apparently an 'it' city to the rest of the country. But I hate it."
"Vote for me, you mouth-breathing racists" sounds like something out of Cards Against Humanity, yet the self-flagellating Democrat voters of Tennessee's 51st House district seem to go for it — so what do I know?
But there's so much more to Behn's story.
Behn grew up privileged, attending the exclusive Webb School of Knoxville, graduating in 2008. She then earned liberal arts and psychology degrees from UT-Austin. Her education — indoctrination, really — continued at the Steve Hicks School of Social Work and the Texas Center for Disability Studies. From there, she entered the challenging field of community organizing.
Basically, Aftyn Behn is Barack Obama with a Karen 'do and a less interesting backstory.
And now she's running for Congress in Tennessee's 7th district special election to replace Rep. Mark Greene, who resigned in July to rejoin the private sector....

I just saw this stupid woman on television.
Hopefully, Tennessee has better sense than to elect her.
Scary..not my district you Nashvillians gotta decide if this POS is what you want or not.
Trump talked Mark Green into running again last year. If he hadn’t a Republican probably would have won the seat easily. Now there is a special with a much lower turnout, which is Behn’s only hope of winning (since the district leans Republican).
A spoiled rotten child of privilege.
“Nashvillians gotta decide if this POS is what you want or not.”
Nashville has been inundated with progressive coastal parasites that now walk around saying ‘ya’ll’ and trying to act like Southerners. Plus the usual professional welfare voters.
Only a tiny part of Nashville is in the 7th district.
I wish readers would do some BASIC research.
We won’t. She’ll be lucky to break 40%.
Early voting lines are pretty long.
You should know that even if it isn’t your district.
10 posts and we’re not gonna talk about those brows?
I’m more concerned about the ease with which she transitions to ‘resting bitch face’.
Liberalism is mental disease.
Trump won by 22 points. Nothing lean about it. It’s deep, deep red. We cannot lose this seat.
Lol!
she looks a little, you know, retarded…
Nashville used to be a safe Democrat seat (the county votes 2-1 for the Democrat Presidential candidate) but the Republicans gerrymandered the districts and split that district up. Now the only Democrat from Tennessee is that creepy guy from Memphis. But that means some Democrats were moved into the surrounding districts making the Republican margin a little narrower.
They split the 5th (Nashville) into 3.
Some got put into the 7th. Not enough though.
I hope you are right—the Republicans can’t afford to lose any more seats in Congress and Behn would be a terrible Representative for the more conservative parts of the district, the great majority of it.
People better get off their asses and vote. Because their side will.
