Punish the monkey, let the organ grinder go.
Organ grinder was spanking the monkey instead of paying attention. But he went away quietly, though he occupied space in an office for a further two years during the war he could have nipped in the bud. So he keeps his bennies. Military “justice”.
The army was ordered to stand down for hours on October 7, and the order came from the very top organ grinder.
This follows other disciplinary actions.
Summary of the personal conclusions decided by Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir:
- Former Head of Military Intelligence (AMAN), Maj. Gen. (res.) Aharon Haliva – dismissed from reserve service
- Former Head of Operations Directorate, Maj. Gen. Oded Basiuk – dismissed from reserve service
- Former Commander of the Southern Command, Maj. Gen. Yaron Finkelman – dismissed from reserve service
- Commander of the Air Force, Maj. Gen. Tomer Bar – failure of the Air Force to meet its mission of defending the nation’s skies against the “low‑altitude” threat (drones), a failure that reflected significant gaps – command reprimand
- Commander of the Navy, Maj. Gen. David Sa’ar Salama – command reprimand
- Head of Military Intelligence, Maj. Gen. Shlomi Binder (who served as Head of Operations Division on October 7) – the Chief of Staff considers him the suitable person to continue commanding Military Intelligence – command reprimand; at his request, after completing his term as Head of AMAN, he will retire from the IDF
- Former Head of the Operations Branch in AMAN, Brig. Gen. G. – to retire from the IDF
- Former Commander of Unit 8200, Brig. Gen. (res.) Yossi Shariel – dismissed from reserve service
- Former Commander of the Gaza Division, Brig. Gen. Avi Rosenfeld – dismissed from reserve service
- Former Intelligence Officer of the Southern Command, Col. Ariel Lebovsky – dismissed from reserve service
- Former Commander of the Northern Brigade in the Gaza Division, Col. Haim Cohen – dismissed from reserve service
- Former Intelligence Officer of the Gaza Division, Lt. Col. A. – will immediately begin the process of ending his service in the IDF
The Israeli military recently announced the formal dismissal of several generals who had already resigned their posts due to the intelligence and operational failures surrounding the October 7, 2023, attack by Hamas.
The key generals dismissed are:
Major General Aharon Haliva former head of the Military Intelligence Directorate (Aman), the first high-ranking official to resign over the failure to provide a strategic warning of the attack.
Major General Yaron Finkelman former commander of the Southern Command, the division responsible for the area bordering Gaza.
Major General Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi former IDF Military Advocate General, who resigned after the Defense Minister attempted to fire her over the leaking of a video related to the alleged abuse of Palestinian detainees at the Sde Teiman facility.
These actions follow an internal investigation into the military’s failure to protect Israeli citizens on October 7.
The current IDF Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, emphasized the military’s responsibility in a statement announcing the dismissals and disciplinary actions against other senior officers.
Gotta hand it to the Israelis. When the stuff hits the fan, resignations follow. We used to see that in the United States, but it has been many years since taking personal responsibility was the norm here.
That’s my recollection: Many officers have already lost their jobs for their failures on October 7th.
Moshe Dayan was just as guilty in ‘73.
And none of them have defended themselves by saying they received stand-down orders...
Israeli citizens were defenseless on October 7, 2023 because their government did not trust them to keep and bear arms - even though a fanatical enemy was just a few miles away.
That is perhaps the biggest failure of them all.
Yes
ONLY the USA is founded on GOD given rights. We are a Biblical Republic.
But where does the buck stop in Israel the Prime Minister is passing it with these actions and refuses a formal state inquiry into his actions in relation to October 7th.
The public record is that before October 7th Hamas rule in Gaza was financed by Qatar and this was allowed by the Prime Minister.
There is criminal investigation in Israel right now regarding aides of Benjamin Netanyahu getting money from Qatar from 2021 to 2024 before during and after October 7th.
The entire country was on high alert for 10 days around the Yom Kippur holiday.
The deepest Hamas penetration in force was three miles from the Gaza border.
That was a music festival, where Hamas murdered more than 600 un-armed young people, and took many hostages.
The festival had private security which - by law - could have only limited ammunition, which they ran out of in 15 minutes.
That is perhaps the biggest failure of them all.
As the attacks were going on, the Israeli civilians caught up in it were asking, "where's the army?" The army finally showed up after Hamas had been in total control of the area for hours. Israel needs to pattern its gun laws after states like Texas and Arizona so that civilians can defend themselves if the army fails to show up.
Yes, we're on page six. 🙄
Honestly, the whole incident reads like an NRA advertisement.
