Oh, cry me a river! The author’s viewpoint is obscene! If these people want to drive trucks, they need to take an English as second language course. They are completely unsafe and can, and have caused all kinds of havoc.
When and Why did America run out of friggin’ truck drivers? Who decided they needed to wear turbans as Identification as Somebody with a CDL?
Maybe the writers of this piece should be more concerned about how unqualified truck drivers who barely speak English threaten American CITIZENS.

The best solution would be for the Sikh community to put the Rule of American Law above ethnic solidarity. Sikh truckers probably know who is unqualified, reckless, ganga-muddled, etc. Help clear out the illegal aliens, those with fake licences, those who can’t read English road signs, those who are not 100 competent, those who drive too many hours without rest, etc. Help the redeemable ones become properly qualified, learn English, pass all the tests. Help ICE deport the accidents waiting to happen. Of course, I’m just dreaming.
Many on the left loves to hammer the issue about the ever-growing divide between executive incomes and their rank and file employees.
Many on the (fiscal) right tend to respond by pointing out the scope of fiduciary and legal responsibilities assumed by executives that are not borne by lower level employees. If that is the case, and if those executives are worthy of that defense, then yep, part of those high salaries can be earned by assuming personal accountability for hiring only legal employees and bearing the costs of hiring illegals.

Do you suppose Sikh immigrants could take the time to maybe learn English at a 3rd or 4th grade level? When I lived in Japan, they sort of expected you to take the trouble to learn their language at a basic level if you wanted more than a three year visa. I suppose that is racist, eh?

No. It wouldn’t threaten “immigrants”. The people it would threaten are ILLEGAL ALIENS who are not allowed to hold CDL’s to begin with. Many of them can’t pass the tests and aren’t safe.
