Trump White House: President Is Making ‘Significant Progress’ in Fixing the Affordability Crisis Caused by the Biden Administration

The Trump White House is working to fix the affordability crisis, making “significant progress” in this area after Americans suffered under Bidenflation for years, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt pointed out during Thursday’s press briefing.

Leavitt pointed to the blockbuster September jobs report, which showed the addition of 119,000 jobs – more than doubling the forecast of 50,000 jobs.

“These gains came after the summer passage of President Trump’s historic tax cuts and multiple big trade deals with countries around the world,” Leavitt said. “In particular, construction jobs surged by 19,000 in September, the largest monthly gain in a year.”

She also pointed out that most of this growth came from the private sector and native-born citizens rather than foreign-born workers.

This, Leavitt pointe out, is “the opposite of what we saw under the previous administration.”

“Inflation also remains under control, and wages are up by 3.8 percent over the year for American workers because of President Trump’s pro-growth policies. In fact, real wages are on pace to increase roughly $1,200 for the average worker this year under President Trump,” she continued.

“This is a complete reversal of the failed Biden era, when we saw inflation skyrocket to nine percent, causing private sector workers to see their wages decline by approximately $3,000,” she said.

While Americans are still suffering the consequences of the four years of economic disaster of the Biden administration, Leavitt said President Donald Trump is “making significant progress to fix this.”

These realities coincide with the Trump administration celebrating the strides made in the affordability crisis since he took office in January 2025. That includes falling gas prices – which reached record highs under Biden – as well as dipping mortgage rates, falling inflation, and boosts in take-home pay. Those victories do not even include what the Trump administration has achieved through trade deals and historic investments secured by the president, all of which can be found here.

Mr. & Mrs. X paid $600,000 for a fairly modest house.

Mr. & Mrs. Y can at most pay $350,000 for such a house.

What is to be done?

If by government power Mr. & Mrs. Y get such a house nearby, Mr. & Mrs. X will feel $250,000 of resentment.

If Mr. & Mrs. X have a $480,000 mortgage, they will be trapped $130,000 underwater.

If that is ever true, you don’t have to have a press conference to proclaim it. People can see it.

You are trying to fix 4 years of decline in 10 months. A lot of those jobs are in high tech.
Too many people on this site have a fast food mentality..they want it right now.

more than 4 years of decline... this country has never climbed out of the pit from 2008. We started to, briefly, but then Biden came along.

The unemployment rate is around 4.4 percent.

Boomers are retiring & dying, which is causing a contraction in the labor supply & consumer spending.

Plus, many companies are too stupid to train a workforce to produce, so they make excuses for why the can’t hire people.
Companies that make excuses are going to have hard time surviving in a changing economic environment.

You’ll continue to be a crybaby, while people that are astute at making money in any environment, will continue to produce & profit.

Well I am very suspect of these numbers plus doesn’t report the ones who fell off the radar...Boomers are getting laid off is more like it, some are retiring some are being forced to retire due to lay off. Many Companies post all these fake jobs for the tax credits and should be severely fined for their actions. Have you tried getting a job lately? I suspect not, just rambling...I know people who were gainfully employed for years and have been out of work for months and submitted over a 100 resumes and not a single response, can’t even get a call back. Last month Target called in over a 1000 in staff at the home office and announced over a video conference you are laid off, exit the building you are not needed...That is becoming the new normal.

Get use to the new normal in economics, which are just getting started.

The economic engines in North America, Europe, & Asia, which drive the global economy have horrible death to birth rates.

They also have extremely high asset valuations that are so beyond the historical norm that only massive intervention can save current pricing.

No, I haven’t looked for a job lately because I own a manufacturing company.

However, I have a large family and many of the youngsters are frustrated with current hiring practices which are computerized & staffing agency oriented.

**********************

The manufacturing sector has been in the doldrums since 2022.

Eventually the other sectors of the economic system will feel the heat.

Unless you believe all the bullshit hype around AI & robots producing & maintaining our current level of civilization.

Try being in your 50’s it is near hopeless finding a job these days I have friends are in that boat. I saw what was coming and branched out for a niche talent but even that will be overtaken luckily I can retire in 3 years I can get out if this mess...Careers are dead as most careers last 5 years now, everyone is a resource, a push button if you will once done out the door they go.

I’m 54.

So we’re in the same age group, but not in the same economic boat.

Also, I’m more sympathetic to your current economic conditions, than most Freepers who collect their Socialist Security checks while talking nonstop about:

Illegals

Muslims

Epstein

Ukraine

Israel

“Good luck and I hope things turn for the better.”
