Nothing good will come out of having Turkish troops there.

Turkish troops on the Israeli border?

How about “NO!”?

This isn’t a test for Trump.

Interesting that the author would frame it as such...

The pitiful effort by Erdogan is an attempt to appear equal to the UAE and the other Abraham Accord members.

Erdogan and Turkey are a basket case economically but desperately want to appear to actually be somebody.

The troop move Ankara is lobbying for, has triggered alarm in US-dependent Israel.

According to Middle East reports, Turkey is preparing a brigade of at least 2,000 soldiers drawn from multiple branches of its military to join the mission once a U.N. Security Council mandate is approved.

Trump has publicly praised Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as “a very strong leader,” signaling a renewed trust with Turkey, a NATO partner.

Trump’s decision will signal Trump’s America First agenda against convoluted US financed Middle East machinations that benefit Israel First.............. at a huge cost to the US and its taxpayers.

Just have the troops vote on it.

I don’t understand why that’s our business, one way or the other. Let Turkey and Israel hash it out.

100 years ago the British Empire had to be involved in everything, everywhere. And of course they could give you good explanations for it. But it was one reason why their empire collapsed.

Looks like we’re following that same path, regardless of who’s president.

Turkey seeks to balance its NATO membership with its own strategic goals, a policy of “strategic autonomy” that allows it to engage with a wide range of actors, such as maintaining ties with Russia while also supplying weapons to Ukraine.

Diker said NATO "must not allow" this and that Trump "cannot allow himself to compromise the principles of America first, which is Israel first and the West first."

Since when do foreign countries get to free ride on America First?

Wonder how the Arabs in Gaza feel about Turkish troops patrolling what’s left of their streets. Didn’t Arab nationalism begin as a fight against the Turks? Memories in that part of the world tend to be pretty long.

Well, yes. But you’ve got to be careful there. Because the next thing you know, they’ll be changing the name of Constantinople to Istanbul.

(Anyone under 60 or so probably has no idea what we’re talking about.)

This must be a joke:

Dan Diker, president of the Jerusalem Center for Security and Foreign Affairs: “Trump wants to put everyone in his Middle East regional deal by embracing enemies and allies alike.” Diker said that Trump “cannot allow himself to be compromised........there’s the principles of America first, which is Israel first and the West first.”

It is a joke.....but nobody’s laughing at this idiot.

How dare he impose himself and US-dependent Israel on
foreign policy that demands the United States be first?

Ask Cyprus how having Turkish troops on their island worked out for them.

Netanyahu needs to accept the terms of the deal Trump worked out or pull out of it and Israel deal with Gaza in anyway it sees fit.

Either way, Trump needs to be focused primarily on domestic issues.

Well, Israel will undeniably have a harder time indiscriminately slaughtering Palestinians if there is a Turkish army there. Seems like a way to preserve human life.
