It’s not communism versus fascism; it’s freedom versus slavery
American Thinker ^ | D. Parker

It’s easy to make the case that communism and fascism are two collectivist, big government, authoritarian ideologies that are stunningly similar. Those trying to claim they are vastly different require a constant psy-op of pure BS on their part to stay viable.

This is because the plain fact is that evil can never be honest and identify itself; instead, it has to come in the guise of a talented and charismatic speaker offering freebies. Evil doesn’t tell you that you have to give up your freedom in exchange for the seemingly boundless hoard of goodies being offered.

It also has to deceive and distract with convenient lies that divert attention away from what is truly happening.

In the case of the ever-violent collectivist left, they continually beat the drum that, while they might be communists, socialists, or whatever. They are also constantly claiming that they are fighting against “fascism” at every turn. The national socialist media and the violent collectivist left do this so often that it’s almost become background noise to our daily political discourse, but it’s important to knock down this lie because it obscures the true conflict and hides what is at stake.

Ideologies can be classified as either collectivist or individualist, from a fundamental philosophical standpoint, with these corresponding to the left and right sides of the political spectrum. Fascism is defined as collectivist by the very nature of the word: from the word fascio (plural fasci), “bundle, fasces, group.” The symbolism is that an individual stick is weak and can easily be broken, whereas a collection of sticks bundled together is far stronger.

Heinlein quote from the article:

Political tags — such as royalist, communist, democrat, populist, fascist, liberal, conservative, and so forth — are never basic criteria. The human race divides politically into those who want people to be controlled and those who have no such desire.

Lefty dismissal:
“He was a privileged white man who was handed his accomplishments. He is surely a fascist.”

Two wings of the same bird: fascism and communism.

want people to be controlled

I prefer to think of what led to the US Constitution, part of which is asking "what is the role of government?."

Part of that is establishing order, which controls people in a de facto sense. E.g., If you drive a vehicle, you must drive on the right side of the rode. This establishes some order, without which in this circumstance, who create lots of problems. Nevertheless, you are "controlling" people. I do agree though, that focusing on the "isms" clouds the fundamental question above. What is the role of government?

“The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few” — Mr. Spock. It’s pretty well known that Gene Roddenberry was a communist, and Star Trek was his utopian vision of a future without capitalism. But what it also implies is that individuals can be sacrificed for the good of the greater whole, and the state is the sole decider of what is good. This is how all authoritarian societies operate.

Freedom is just a concept to these people. Slavery is sticking it to the man. Some people enjoy being slapped around.

From the article: "The big problem for leftists is that they look bad opposing freedom, so they have to lie and claim it's something else as a distraction. But make no mistake: It's a battle between freedom and slavery, good and evil. As Senator Mike Lee stated, conservatism is about limited government, fascism is about total state control— leftist overreach on steroids. Don't fall for the leftist psy-op!"

This is why the political Left in the US as in Europe has been trying to redefine words, and redefine words and redefine words.

One should not forget that WaPo tried to tell us Obama was a "conservative." Lying is the currency of the Left and has been for many decades.

On point for sure.

The Founders in many of their writings pondered this very thing for the most part, the real issue in the 1770s was freedom or slavery to the crown. We are back in the colonies all over again in 2025/2026.

The Russian TV series The Red Queen (2015), also known as Krasnaya koroleva, should be required viewing for students in every school, college, and university.

It offers a unique (in my experience) view of life in the Soviet Union and by extension under any totalitarian regime. The oppression, cruelty, bureaucratic exploitation, and hopelessness are exhausting and horrifying.

Dramatizations of war, violence, child abduction, the mafia, human suffering can be overwhelmingly horrifying, but this horrifies in a different way.

It serves as a call to arms for all people to fight against totalitarianism--and specifically against the horrifying and fundamentally evil theories of Karl Marx, including socialism and communism.

NATIONALIST SOCIALISTS and COMMUNIST SOCIALISTS to the core! Birds of a feather stick together! No wonder the SOCIALISTS call everyone they don’t like after a third rate Italian Political Party(fascists) of the 1930s.

“Controversial problems [between Germany and Russia] did not, in my opinion, exist anywhere along the line from the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea and to the Far East. In addition, despite all the divergencies in their views of life, there was one thing common to the ideology of Germany, Italy and the Soviet Union: opposition to the capitalist democracies in the West.”—Julius Schnurre, Nazi trade rep to Russia.

I like that
Most political paradigms from the right are self serving defense constructs

It’s never as simplistic as that

Even the opposing ends linear model we learned in the 70s

Plus politics evolve with new issues

Esp as the worlds grown smaller
