The United States isn't supposed to be a place for political dynasties. Oh, I know, we've had a few; Roosevelts, Kennedys, Bushes, and so forth. But it's supposed to be something we, as a nation, eschew. Especially when the possible dynasty carries the name "Pelosi."
Former Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is, as we reported here at RedState, finally retiring. Finally! She does have all that money she made with her amazing acumen for buying and selling stocks, after all, time for her to go enjoy the boodle. Now the question becomes, who will replace her?
To our relief, it won't be her daughter Christine Pelosi. Pelosi the Younger is, instead, eyeing a California State Senate run.
Christine Pelosi won’t run to succeed her mother Nancy in Congress, ending the Pelosi dynasty in the House of Representatives.
The younger Pelosi, 59, announced on Monday that she’d run for California state Senate instead, opening the field for a competitive Democratic primary to rep Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco district in 2026.
“In courtrooms, campaigns and corridors of power, I’ve fought to build power for the people. And that’s why I’m running for California Senate,” Christine Pelosi said in her Monday announcement.
Let's translate that from LibSpeak to English: By "fought to build power for the people," she means "fought to consolidate power in the hands of the state's Democratic Party."
But wait! There's more!
“I’m running to represent San Francisco in Sacramento, fighting for consumer rights, women’s rights, gun violence survivors, immigrants and our most vulnerable communities, against the threat we face,” she declared in her 42-second campaign launch video.
“What do we do when our freedoms are under attack? We speak up, we fight back and we organize power for the people, and that’s what I want to do for you.”
That word salad of woke hooraw would put Kamala Harris to shame. But, she is what she is.

So the question becomes this: If there is to be no Pelosi dynasty in the United States House of Representatives - for which we should all breathe a sigh of relief - then who will replace Pelosi the Elder (really, really elder) in the House?
There are currently two heavyweight contenders to represent the deep-blue district: Multi-millionaire software engineer Saikat Chakrabarti, who previously served as chief of staff to “Squad” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY); and State Sen. Scott Wiener.
Neither of those names inspires much confidence. But this is a district in deep, deep blue San Francisco. This seat will be occupied by a creature of the far left, very likely someone who will make Nancy Pelosi look like a wishy-washy moderate. The only good thing about this is that the replacement will be a freshman, with no influence, no experience, no connections. Kind of like Nancy Pelosi was when she first started in the People's House - in 1987. This is a woman who met John F. Kennedy, who entered the House when Ronald Reagan was president, and who stayed in the House until now, leaving only when fossilization became likely.
To Nancy Pelosi, we can only say, "Buh-bye then." And to Christine Pelosi, we can only say "Thanks for keeping the Pelosi nutcakery where it belongs - in San Francisco, where nobody notices."

Nancy Pelosi is the 3rd generation of a political dynasty.
Her grandfather was mayor of Baltimore - Tommy D’Allesandro and her father was mayor of Baltimore - Young Tommy D’Allesandro.
So the Daughter would be the 4th.
Sort of as an aside, I saw a social media post about the lobotomized Rosemary Kennedy, sister of Ted and John.
Many of the comments were about “that’s how they shut up strong women back then” and “this is barbaric” and “I can’t believe this was an accepted practice” and “I’m glad we don’t do this anymore.”
Then someone wrote “in 20 years, we will be saying the same things about giving minors gender reassignment surgery.”
The ensuing Donnybrook was a sight to see.

A dynasty of democrat demons. In a republic, we don’t need dynasties of anything or either party. Term limits may help to stem that tide, but more importantly an intelligent and moral electorate that can spot trouble in the first generation would be the ideal. Nah, not likely to happen. Sad.
This is a state senate race, not the US Senate.
