Come on dude! We all knew this offer should have been in the pipeline all along.
They all knew Mamdani was going to win. If they’re not prepared to leave NY NOW Houston should not hire these pollyanas.
Any police officers unfortunate enough to still be stuck in New York City should hightail out while they still can.
The problem with this for smaller police agencies outside NY is that the NYC police make so much, they cannot afford to hire them.
ICE has also been targeting their police force.
GOD FOR THEM!!!!!!
BEING SAFER COMES WITH LESS PAY & LESS STRESS
What win?
Should not hire anyone who was willing to enforce New York gun laws.
For a job which often requires outdoor work wearing heavy clothing (kevlar?) is the weather of Houston going to be that appealing to someone in NYC?
Well....the good news is you’ll spend a lot of time driving long distances, in your a/c car and donut shops.
The refrigerated air is something to behold.
They should’ve left years ago.
Good luck to all of the good ones.
It will become a Madmani force before you know it.
Ala Detroit.
I don’t know. NYPD officers have had it drilled into them their entire careers that any citizen in possession of a firearm is a criminal. will that be a good fit in Texas?
Houston isn’t peaches and cream these days. Katrina exports is part of the problem from what I have read.
Could all the disgruntled cops in the US relocate to a place where they could enforce the laws of a new country or state Trump could declare? Build it and they will come.
First, they’d have to learn not to call it “House-ton”.
At least their pro football teams can suck as badly as NYC’s. Fuhgeddaboutit!
.
IIRC only Nassau County pays more.
The NYPD will have no trouble replacing them. A “great replacement” you might say.
What justifies losing your life for a system that hates you and won't support your efforts or risks?
