Alvarez, huh? I’m sure he was not illegal and had never been arrested before....
Thank heavens the old couple didn’t use a gun. They could have gotten hurt!
I know a guy who keeps a gun hidden in every room of his house… just in case of a sudden home invasion.
That’s probably a bit much. But having police-grade pepper spray hidden in every room of the house might not be a bad idea.
Of course there’s also home alarms, keep your doors locked, etc. too.
What is wrong with people?! A screwdriver to the head? Knifing the husband?! Sick, sick.
I installed a good alarm system -- all windows and doors have sensors, garage door, motion sensors first floor. But my wife will NOT use it! "We live in a safe area" she says. I set the alarm when we are away -- she comes home and has to disarm it, then gets mad at me! "Why do you set it?" she says.
Absolutely drives me crazy. No matter how many stories like this I tell her, she replies "We don't need to worry about that."
Did I mention she drives me crazy?
California is a lawless dystopia.
You gotta see it to understand it. These types of random, brutally violent crimes are no surprise to anyone who resides in Gavin Newsom's paradise.
Get a 12 gauge Watch Dog and let
Her choose.
.
Or Trade her off.
.
Don’t go Clazy!
“a 12 gauge Watch Dog” — heh, heh!
Our 20 pounder makes a lot of noise, but always at the wrong time.
I’m not a huge fan of big dogs. Especially since our first grandchild was born last week.
I like the idea somebody posted of keeping pepper spray located throughout the house.

By golly, that was me. It’s important that the pepper spray be police-grade. None of that weak stuff you sometimes see in checkout lines.
Fox and Sabre are good brands. Both are available on Amazon.
And I do keep pepper spray in many rooms. Up high, but easy to get to. Even got one in the garage and one in the basement.
I used to also keep a pistol in one room, loaded but secured with a combination lock. Unfortunately, I lost that pistol in a boating accident.
When I was single I had a gun in every room. The other day I was in my closet and saw my 7 yr olds Halloween costume hanging from 2 hooks on the wall that were put there to perfectly fit a Benelli M4 shotgun. I still have guns, and 1 at the ready, but how times change!
Very strange for sure. Modesto is approximately 90 miles North of Fresno (Home of FR) and Riverside is approximately 270 miles South of Fresno, a total of about 360 miles. We probably won’t hear much more of this as to why he was even in the area or what his motivation was.
“”so a K-9 was deployed and helped get him into custody.””
When all else fails...GOOD DOG!!
I thought Newscum’s Cauliphonya doesn’t have any crime.
I keep my alarm system armed all day/night - set it for AWAY when I leave the house for the store etc., carry the FOB in my purse to turn it off if I come in the front door or through the door from the garage into the kitchen, the control panel is right inside the door...sensors on all the windows that can be reached - others would need a ladder to be reached...for that, count on my neighbors to be alert to see someone putting a ladder up to high windows - LOL!! Sometimes I get a “battery low” and have to figure out which location that is..I keep batteries on hand for that - if I can’t locate it, I call the company and they tell me. This year earlier, it was the sensor on a door that goes outside from the garage...I thought of all of them except that one.
Don’t know what to tell you about warnings to your wife..I hate to think she would learn the hard way..My husband, who is gone now didn’t get involved in the alarm setup but I thought it was necessary. We lived in both N. California and S. California for 50+ years and didn’t think of alarm systems for our homes but TODAY???? Times are very much different IMO...

There is no such thing as a “safe area”. Especially since the OBiden regime has imported millions of bad guys running amuck amongst us. Is your wife also anti-ICE? Because catching the bad guys is still ongoing and most of them have not been caught.
I have a first rate system, sensors, motion detectors and cameras.
I never use it when I’m home because I can hear a break-in and I have a very good and effective firearm.
But if I go on a trip I rely on it to keep my stuff safe.
Could be me with the gun in every rooom unless the grandkids are here. We live in a safe area by Scot Adam’s plan but none the less my motto is why take a chance.
"Helped."
I like that turn of phrase.
