The electric F-150 has gone the way of the pet rock, Cabbage Patch Kids and the Macarena.

“The company’s retreat would follow a growing list of EV cutbacks across Detroit.

Stellantis has canceled plans for an electric Ram pickup, while GM has halted production of some of its electric trucks and vans after steep losses. Even Tesla’s futuristic Cybertruck has seen sales nosedive.

GM last month idled its Detroit factory that builds electric pickups and took a $1.6 billion charge to cover losses. Ford’s move could now mark the beginning of the end for big, battery-powered trucks once seen as the industry’s crown jewel.”

Another example of why government needs to stay the hell out of the free market

Raise your hand if you want a weak battery EV when it’s 20 below zero out

Hooray for centralized government economic planning - works every single time, if one desires to fail and waste resources.

NYC, you are now an honorary Ford F-150 Lightning, about to be deprecated by Communism.

I saw dozens of these stacked up in rows at the local Ford dealership here in NE Florida. Sticker price was in the $70k+ range from what I recall. I can’t imagine why they weren’t selling.

I just checked my COSTCO car purchasing site.
There are coupons for new car purchases.
It hit me that almost all were EV’s.

It was a terrible Idea and the whole team should be fired for doing it and for sticking with it.

Only gov mandate could ever create an EV truck!
I can see somebody buying small EV car for daily commute.
But working truck? Give me a break!

They were always complete and total fools to be pouring money into that boondoggle. The market for electric vehicles is very limited - and Tesla is already miles ahead of them.

The whole thing has been a joke. None of these automakers would have started building these stupid EVs if the government hadn’t imposed all kinds of mandates and subsidies.

Now there is a real market in action. If you want one of these EVs, use your own darn $$$. Stay the f*** out of my pocket (taxpayer $$$ subsidies).

While driving with family and friends, I used to point out every Tesla/EV and mention that we all helped that person purchase the EV (taxpayer $$$). Eventually, most of the people were so ticked off they asked me to stop.

After Sept 30th, I began pointing out EVs and stating that we no longer fund new EV purchases. They like this much more.
