RFK Jr.’s offshore wind fishing expedition
The Washington Post ^ | 11/01/2025 12:58 p.m. EDT | Editorial Board

During a campaign rally last year, President Donald Trump told voters he’d let Robert F. Kennedy Jr., now his health and human services secretary, “go wild” regulating food and medicine. Yet he warned the former Democrat that he’d have to stay away from “liquid gold” — that is, oil and gas. Perhaps it’s no surprise then that Kennedy recently ordered HHS staff to go on a fishing expedition for health threats from offshore wind farms.

What exactly the administration is looking to study remains unclear, though Bloomberg reports that Kennedy’s team is reviewing the health impacts that electromagnetic frequencies generated by undersea cables might have on nearby fishermen. (Never mind that Americans are exposed to electrical cables all the time.) An HHS spokeswoman declined to provide more information about the investigation but said work on the report “has been halted solely due to the Democrat-led government shutdown.”

Offshore wind isn’t a perfect solution to America’s energy needs. It is expensive to develop and maintain relative to other energy sources, even as costs have fallen significantly in recent decades. Others complain that turbines disrupt maritime areas used for fishing. When they fail — such as one whose blade shattered last year off the coast of Nantucket in Massachusetts — they can shed significant amounts of sharp debris in the ocean and on beaches.

But all too often, offshore wind opponents exaggerate or even invent problems to discredit a business they don’t like. Kennedy and Trump have embraced the cause of the endangered North Atlantic right whale. They blame the turbines for the animals dying off in droves or going “crazy." Yet the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration hasn’t found evidence to support that conclusion.

The reality is that Trump simply doesn’t like...

From Powerline:
The Environmental Disaster of Wind and Solar
The American people, and others around the world, have been sold a bill of goods on wind and solar energy. These electricity sources are intermittent, unreliable, and ridiculously expensive. Those defects supposedly were outweighed by their environmental benefits. But are there, in fact, any environmental benefits?
The reality is that both wind and solar energy are terrible for the environment. This is because they are absurdly low-power energy sources, so they require vast quantities of materials (mining, manufacturing, transportation and construction) and land to produce minimal amounts of electricity.
This video tells the story. It is deliberately moderate in tone to be accessible to a broad audience that probably knows little about the realities of wind and solar:
It is based on Sarah Montalbano’s report, Shattered Green Dreams. If you like the video, please share it on social media or via email. It tells a story that many millions need to hear.

Just the name Washington Post, turns my TRUSTWORTHY BUTTON red. Anything they report, has to have a hook and it is tied to a line of thought, otherwise known as propaganda.

Ballsy irony. The reason for the outrageous expense of building maritime windmills in the first place was because fossil fuel "opponents exaggerate or even invent problems to discredit a business they don’t like."

The dead birds are the greatest liability for these globalist windmill freaks.

The only question is, is there any species of bird that hasn’t been decimated by windmills.

I hate the modern wind turbines we have today as they’re so impractical. The technology is not there yet but these grifters don’t care about anything but making a quick buck and then abandoning the installations. Keep the development going and when we have it perfected then launch it. Much the same with solar, but we’re further along with solar, regarding its practicality.

T. Boone Pickens was buying millions of $$$ to put up wind farms, but his wife talked him out of it. Smart wife.

I met TBP a few times at various events. He was very impressive.

Back in the early 2000’s, RFK, Jr. actively protested against an offshore wind turbine project being installed at Nantucket Sound, south of Cape Cod.

One generally doesn't find what one doesn't want to find and, therefore, doesn't look too hard for it.
