Our Government lawyers do not think we have the legal authority to pay SNAP with certain monies we have available, and now two Courts have issued conflicting opinions on what we can and cannot do.

I do NOT want Americans to go hungry just because the Radical Democrats refuse to do the right thing and REOPEN THE GOVERNMENT.

Therefore, I have instructed our lawyers to ask the Court to clarify how we can legally fund SNAP as soon as possible.

It is already delayed enough due to the Democrats keeping the Government closed through the monthly payment date and, even if we get immediate guidance, it will unfortunately be delayed while States get the money out.

If we are given the appropriate legal direction by the Court, it will BE MY HONOR to provide the funding, just like I did with Military and Law Enforcement Pay.

The Democrats should quit this charade where they hurt people for their own political reasons, and immediately REOPEN THE GOVERNMENT.

If you use SNAP benefits, call the Senate Democrats, and tell them to reopen the Government, NOW!

Here is Cryin’ Chuck Schumer’s Office Number: (202) 224-6542

I don’t see how the court has the authority to micromanage the executive branch.

How about trying that with congress?

We could have lawsuits concerning:

-whether or not a piece of legislation is brought to a vote
-whether the dollar amounts specified in bills are “correct”.
-what days/times votes are allowed to be held (and on a case by case basis)
-whether or not a rule is valid or constitutional
-whether or not committee assignments are valid
-if their pay scale is “correct”.

Jeff Childers has an excellent analysis of this. Recommended reading. TAW. This will be a win-win for Trump in the PR arena.

Since judges are our ruling class, why don’t they just order Democrats to vote to fund the government? Or even order the government funded?

Trump should fund it for one month, with restrictions put in place so beneficiaries can only buy true necessities.

These restrictions must remain in place for any permanent agreement to be reached.

Trump must continue to draw clear distinctions between his position and that of Schumer’s.

Trump is the one reaching out, the Democrats are hiding.

Trump is providing, Democrats are denying.

Trump is compassionate, Democrats are heartless.

I still say he should do a TV speech from the Oval and explain this because the people who need to understand it don’t read Truth Social. He could turn his pockets inside-out for effect.

The federal gov’t is not constitutionally here to feed Americans.

Our Free Constitutional Republic is here for the states and the people to be free to govern and take care of themselves.

When it comes to financial well being, the federal gov’t is the problem, NOT the solution.

The point is, he may not actually have the authority to do even that. If they want to play this game, let’s play it straight up: do they get public money as a “right” or as a matter of a law, a law which is currently un-funded?

If the latter, no dice.

The States are free to infill on a temporary basis if they want.

Except for the military, America and the American People NEED most of the rest of the federal gov’t to be shut down - PERMANENTLY!!!

MAGA with MORE freedom and LESS gov’t!!

LESS gov’t, MORE prosperity!!!

Can some judge tell me what I must do with my money, even though I’ve committed no crime? Obama judges think so.

I don’t disagree. Legally, he would likely be in the wrong to find a way to fund SNAP without Congressional approval. But morally, he would be right, IMHO.

THAT’S what would get votes and keep our cities from burning down.

Weigh the cost of SNAP vs the cost of our urban centers burning down, every store looted. I know that won’t suffice as evidence or justification in a legal courtroom.

Here, the court of public opinion is a higher court than any legal court, in the near term.

WWJD?

They keep talking about an “emergency fund”.

If I understand correctly this fund does not exist without funding. Or in other words the emergency fund is there when the SNAP program is funded.

Any Freepers out there that can clarify?

"Therefore, I have instructed our lawyers to ask the Court to clarify how we can legally fund SNAP as soon as possible."

Best possible decision. Put it in the hands of the courts. There will likely be multiple different decisions from the courts it goes through. Let the judicial branch fight it out between themselves. They deserve to be stuck with this, since they've been sticking their noses where it doesn't belong for years.
