A staffer for the Democrat Governor of Massachusetts has been fired after he was arrested on drug and gun charges.

Lamar Cook, who was a member of Gov. Maura Healey’s staff, was arrested after police executed a search warrant at his state office in Springfield.

During the search, authorities seized eight grams inside of his government office.

The now former Deputy Director of the governor’s western Massachusetts office has since been charged with cocaine trafficking and unlawful possession of a gun.

Per CBS News:

A member of Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey’s staff has been fired after he was arrested on drug and gun charges.

Lamar Cook was arrested after state police executed a search warrant at his office in Springfield, according to the Hampden District Attorney. Cook, 45, of Springfield, was the Deputy Director of the governor’s western Massachusetts office.

Investigators said they seized about eight grams of “suspected cocaine” during a delivery at Cook’s office on Dwight Street Saturday.

Police found Cook driving Tuesday evening in Springfield and arrested him. He’s charged with cocaine trafficking and unlawful possession of a gun and ammunition.

He’s due to be arraigned Wednesday in Springfield District Court. Hampden District Attorney Anthony Gulluni said Cook’s arrest is also linked to two suspicious packages that were seized at the Hotel UMass in Amherst on October 10. Those packages had “approximately 13 kilograms of suspected cocaine,” Gulluni’s office said.

According to Cook’s LinkedIn page, he joined the governor’s office in 2023 and was tasked with overseeing “government initiatives and policies in 4 counties.”

After news broke of Cook’s arrest, a spokesperson for Governor Healey stated, “Mr. Cook has been terminated from his position effective immediately. This criminal investigation is ongoing, and our administration will work with law enforcement to assist them in their work.”

In recent months, Gov. Healey has been very critical of ICE after agents conducted raids in Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard.

Her policies since being elected have repeatedly placed illegal aliens first above U.S. citizens in her state.

Last year, she made the controversial decision to turn a former veteran’s shelter into a house for illegal aliens.

Come on man. A MA gov’t salary and 10 years of service to retirement just isn’t lucrative enough!

I am a Massachusetts native and lived the first 33 years of my life there. I left 40 years ago. Historically, Massachusetts was the Cradle of Liberty. There is a lot to be proud about in the history of Massachusetts. It is a beautiful place and I love it for what it was but could never go back. Democrats, hippies. and academia took over the place decades ago. The governor herself is a carpetbagger. It is a one party state and there is no hope that things will ever improve. It is a very sad situation.

When do we start slapping democrats, progressives, liberals and other degenerates like this one in the work camps?
That’s all they could talk about at the beginning of the year, so they are expecting it, and 2025 is over in two months.
Well?

The local news outfits reported that one if the packages was 8 KILOgrams, not 8 grams. See the report on this on wwlp.com, which mentions this perp picking up other oackages at his former job at the UMass hotel.

I don’t know if the governor is a carpetbagger, but she is certainly a two bagger.

That was the taste. Nobody sends dope through the mail.
