The Israeli’s would be fools to vote for anyone else.
Didn’t they mean Bibi is running in 2028 to replace Trump...sarc
“The Israeli’s would be fools to vote for anyone else.”
I agree with you.
Another reminder of the exceptionalism of George Washington for self-limiting his own power. The humility, the grace that forged our country. ASTOUNDED that members of a site literally called “Free Republic” are applauding ANY man’s grip on power? It should he appalling if Trump were to try for even just a 3rd term, let alone going full blown Putin.
The fact the Prime Minister hasn’t even been grooming a worthy successor is telling. And it’s unfair so many Israelis have to be stuck between a rock and a hard place when voting.
Growing number of IDF moms as well as some notable mothers of hostages don’t want him.
40 plus percent of the nearly 1200 dead soldiers these past two years were under the age of 21.
You can bet some Mama Bears are riled up.
As hostages return, public joy and grief collide; for mothers like Einav Zangauker and Iris Haim, love became political—by rage or forgiveness; their bodies, like many across Israel, bear witness to a state that failed its promise to protect:

“Einav Zangauker was a lifelong right-wing voter, a devoted supporter of Benjamin Netanyahu. When her son Matan was kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7, she stayed silent for two months, trusting “Mr. Security” to bring him home. But faith dies quickly when your child is in a tunnel.
Believing in a leader is easy when your child isn’t being used as a bargaining chip. What transformed Einav was realizing that those who truly stood by her were the very people she had been taught to distrust - the judicial-reform protesters. Ideology evaporates fast when you discover who actually shows up while your child is dying in captivity.”
He’s too old. He was a great, even indispensable, man in his time, but he needed to transition his agenda to younger people a long time ago.
If he makes it to the end of ‘27, he’ll be the Cecil Underwood of Israeli politics.
Israel’s Left struggles to get 25% in elections. But the Left controls all major media except one television station on one newspaper, skewing perceptions in America.
As in the US, polls almost uniformly slant to the Left, which makes a bigger difference in Israel results than it does in American results.
There are plenty of anti-joooos here that would rather the reincarnation of Yasser Arafat elected instead of Netanyahu. They are stupid enough to believe the bullshit from Cucker and Hamdace
As with Trump, Bibi Derangement Syndrome sufferers are perplexed:

...Yet even after signing the Trump-backed agreement that formally ends the Gaza war—a moment that might have marked both victory and political closure—he continues to lead every major poll.
It is a paradox that baffles many observers: how can a leader with some of the lowest personal approval ratings in Israel’s history remain the country’s most likely winner in the next election?...
George Washington was a remarkable man. No doubt about it. He stepped aside after eight years in office. But there was peace then. There were no great threats to the country.
Netanyahu does not have that luxury.
A lot of victims’ families blame him for Oct 7 and/or have not been happy with his handling of Gaza War either.
They give Trump credit, not him.
Yes, he’s probably too old for my taste, but with Israel’s system that’s not a problem like it is in the US. Yariv Levin, Nir Barkat and several others are very capable and could replace him smoothly overnight.
> A lot of victims’ families blame him for Oct 7… <
That’s a fair criticism. Israel was caught completely by surprise. Many failures contributed to that. But the buck stops with the boss.
My concern is that Netanyahu might be replaced by a weak, “peace at any price” politician. Kicking the can down the road would be a disaster for Israel.
You’d have to be a stunted loser to think a decrepit old hack from that era has anything to offer on the U.S. political scene.
He is also Mitt Romney’s close college buddy. Or post-grad rather. (Bibi and Mitt both got their start at the same Boston consulting firm.)
Good. He needs to crush Israel’s Marxist judiciary. Those leftist judges would not even let him deport 70,000 Eritrean illegal invaders who came in before Israel built their wall, despite a law passed to do just that - which committed to even PAYING them to leave!
Yes but the “families of hostages” are nearly all radical leftists and atheists who hated Bibi anyway. Many of the families who lived on those kibbutzes actively helped the Gazans who later murdered them and wanted Palestinian Arabs to have a state.
