EMPOWERING PATIENTS THROUGH RADICAL PRICE TRANSPARENCY: Today, President Donald J. Trump signed an Executive Order to empower patients with clear, accurate, and actionable healthcare pricing information.
The order directs the Departments of the Treasury, Labor, and Health and Human Services to rapidly implement and enforce the Trump healthcare price transparency regulations, which were slow walked by the prior administration.
The departments will ensure hospitals and insurers disclose actual prices, not estimates, and take action to make prices comparable across hospitals and insurers, including prescription drug prices.
The departments will update their enforcement policies to ensure hospitals and insurers are in compliance with requirements to make prices transparent.

I thought he did this his last term but I never saw any action on it.
We have multiple homes, this happened in Arizona. Here in California, Simi Valley and Thousand Oaks at least, they give you the real price with no surprises.
Trump is an anomaly.
The guy is independently wealthy, was famous already in the 90s, was surrounded by models, celebrities and politicians.
IMHO, his motivation today is to get his face on Mount Rushmore, maybe not literally, but figuratively. He’s an older man that has accomplished EVERYTHING one can only dream of. Air Force One and the White House are a step down for him regards luxury and amenities, and that’s not a joke.
People like him, seeing the sun set, often begin to think about their legacy.
But here’s the catch. No one owns the guy.
Not even his own party originally that only begrudgingly accepted him and stacked the deck against him in his first election.
All your DC lobbyists, your big corporations and oligarchs that buy the politicians have very little power over this guy. He’s basically an independent regards the interests politicians are beholden to.
Frankly, I’m surprised he’s still alive.
He makes decisions like with his China tariffs that piss all over folks making billions on the status quo: some US retailers and many manufacturers. I’m sure some were only upset at the fact that the bullet didn’t make his head explode.
Trump is the best thing since sliced bread for this country and frankly many others.
IMHO, there will be some friction and temporary problems as Trump pushes to level the playing field and cause some of the jobs to come back. But eventually, the results will be greater wealth and sustainable economic growth in the US.
His social policies are simply “common sense.” The Democrats pandering to every extreme fringe minority group to get that last vote pushed things into the “Twilight Zone.” We enter a world that was surreal.
Things were getting weird: Puberty blockers for teenagers. Men in women prisons. Gender reassignment paid for with tax money and in the military. Criminal, as in felony, illegal aliens that aren’t getting deported. Abortion on demand subsidized with Tax money. Tax payer paid benefits for illegal aliens. Just weird, or stupid, however you want to see it.
Frankly, Trump doesn’t have a hard time choosing new issues to address, and the solutions are self-evident.
The problem is that most political figures before him were paralyzed by the various financial interests that pay for their party, campaign, lobbying, PACs, legal litigation, and make them and their family very wealthy. In fact, that’s where this concept of a uniparty comes from. The same interests are buying the Republicans and Democrats and on some of the important issues it really matters little who you voted for, example trade with China, our policies regards Israel, Saudi Arabia, etc.
I think great things are happening and we have Trump to thank.
At least one of the two local to FR HQ hospitals has published a complete price list...2.8 gigabytes in “.CSV” (spreadsheet) format. Will choke most PC’s when trying to open it. Dozens of prices for each item depending on the payer/insurance company. Pretty useless and maintaining the database adds to the cost of medical care.
