The EU announced €76 million in humanitarian aid for Rohingya refugees in March 2025, adding to the over €32 million allocated earlier in 2025 and a previous €18 million commitment for community resilience

How much aid is Venezuela providing, central_venezuela?

Excuse us, but we have to help the starving kids here in America, before we throw money to countries that hates us...

Sorry tell your own government to feed the starving kids in your own country!! The American Taxpayers are not the Food Bank!!

It’s not the US or India, Thailand or Indonesia’s fault. It is partially China’s fault (as they have propped up the junta).

The roots of the Rohingya issue date back centuries before the foundation of the USA. Bengalis (Hindus, Muslims etc.) were welcomed in by the Arakan kingdom as they had the trading and agricultural skills. Then the Arakan kingdom was conquered by the Burman kingdom around the end of the 1700s.

Then the British conquered the Burman kingdom and added the various kingdoms of that area to British India.

In 1932 the British carved out “Burma” from British India - partially as a local “white nabob” wanted his own Viceroyalty and partially because the Japanese funded a racist Burmese movement under U Thang (yeah, they got weird names).

In 1941 the Burmese (the largest but not the plurality, ethnic group in Myanmar) committed genocide against South Asians there - whether Hindu, Christian or Muslim.

And since then the Burmese junta has tried to keep their country together with force - attacking Christian Karen (a group more related to the Chinese), etc.etc.

The Rohingyas are people who have lived in Arakan for over a century. But they don’t look South-East Asian and they are Muslim, so were easy targets. Then they becameJiuhadis and made it even easier to ignore them.

Why should the USA care? It doesn’t need to. Aiding the Rohingyas bring the USA no benefit, actually it makes it bad for the USA (like helping the muhajideen in the 80s, but without the upside of tweaking the Soviet’s nose).

India doesn’t care about this and shouldn’t. Neither does Thailand. The Chinese want the junta to remain in power so doesn’t care.

The Indonesians MIGHT care as these are fellow Mohmmedans, but it is mostly the Bengali Bangladeshis who should care - these people are a related group.

It. is. not. the. USA’s. problem.

This article is nuts

What is it about American taxpayer money that makes it so unique? Money is fungible. It probably would be impossible to count the many many many charities that are pumping food to the disadvantaged. And what does this father do all day besides waiting for someone else to feed his kid? Talk about leaving yourself vulnerable. I’m having a hard time buying there isn’t enough food dogoodisim out there. It’s all I see online and on TV.

...where are all the wealthy moslem countries and why aren’t they taking care of their brethren?

As long as Uncle Sugar is there with pallet loads of cash, why would they use their own money?

Firstly - it’s not the USA’s problem, leave alone the USA’s fault.

But this is not about “unfit culture” - it is that the Myanmar junta is purposely committing genocide to divert attention from its other problems. None of the neighbors bar the Bangladeshis care.

But, and I repeat, it is NOT the USA’s problem

I concur. China has the most influence in Myanmar. They share a border. They are trading pardners.

We have a crap load of problems here in America to fix instead of shipping money overseas. If we have surplus foods that someone is willing to ship over there I’m all for that, but the shipping costs should be on someone elses dime.

The Myanmar military bombed a peaceful Buddhist protest this morning, killing at least 24. If the military would just lay down their arms the killing would stop. But nobody’s holding the Myanmar military responsible. Just the USA.
