Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) confirmed Sunday that 400 Texas National Guard soldiers will be deployed to Illinois and other sanctuary states under a federal directive from President Trump, igniting a fierce interstate clash. Illinois Governor JB Pritzker (D) denounced the move as “Trump’s Invasion” and called for immediate withdrawal.
Governor Abbott confirmed a plan by President Trump to send Texas Army National Guard soldiers to Illinois and other parts of the country to protect federal law enforcement officials. The move, confirmed by Abbott in a social media post on Sunday, drew criticism from Illinois Governor Pritzker, who asked Abbott to refuse.
Pritzker issued a statement on Sunday condemning the plan to send the contingent of Texas soldiers to his state, saying, “We must now start calling this what it is: Trump’s Invasion. It started with federal agents, it will soon include deploying federalized members of the Illinois National Guard against our wishes, and it will now involve sending in another state’s military troops.”
“I call on Governor Abbott to immediately withdraw any support for this decision and refuse to coordinate,” Pritzker continued. “There is no reason a President should send military troops into a sovereign state without their knowledge, consent, or cooperation.”
Texas Governor Greg Abbott wasted no time responding to Pritzker’s request to refuse coordination with President Trump’s plan in a social media post on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday evening. Abbott’s post read, “I fully authorized the President to call up 400 members of the Texas National Guard to ensure safety for federal officials. You can either fully enforce protection for federal employees or get out of the way and let (the) Texas Guard do it.”

The “Trump Invasion” is a far, far better thing than the “Pritzker Crime Zone” that terrorizes all the innocents.
“defies” to me, suggests that somehow Abbott should be obeying Pritzker? I think not.
“Pritzker Crime Zone”….I love it. Trump should use that. The PCZ.
Fantastic news! I wish Illinois had a governor like Abbot, instead of Prickster the Hut.
This is a fascinating development.
The humiliation this must be exacting on the failed leaders of Illinois is astounding. Watching Texas National Guard come in to safeguard Federal Agents in Illinois, will be a forever failure for that failed state.
I’m guessing that Trump has guard units from other red states ready to assist if necessary.

I, for one, am very happy to see it happen. Prayers up for the good guys that none of them get hurt.
This is what I voted for Prickster. Go drink toilet water!!
How far will these Left wing-nuts go to defend their criminal allies?
“ Can pritzker unite the Chicago crime families against the Texas National Guard. Will the obidens DEI mercenaries join them?”
I’m guessing that their first encounter with the TX guard isn’t going to be very pleasant and they will run away like scared rabbits.
Pritzker and Johnson should both be arrested and charged with insurrection. They’re putting American citizen’s in jeopardy over their ridiculous politics that put foreign nationals over American lives. Foreigners who are here illegally. Enough is enough! This is time for action. Same thing with Portland and any other city or state that wants to play this game.
SEND IN THE TROOPS AND LET’S SETTLE THIS NOW!
You're not a *sovereign state*.
You're part of this Constitutional republic and subject to federal jurisdiction.
If you want true independence, vote yourself out of the union and give up all federal funding.
Besides, the federal government has the right to protect federal property is YOU (Illinois/Pritzker) won’t.
Kudos to Gov Abbot.
