Investigators have found no evidence suggesting the inferno that ripped through the waterfront home of a South Carolina judge and her ex-senator husband on Saturday was intentionally set, according to authorities.
Circuit Court Judge Diane Goodstein’s Edisto Beach home went up in flames around midday, forcing her husband, former state Sen. Arnold Goodstein (D-Charleston), to jump from the first floor to escape the blaze, the Post and Courier reported.

Do they ever apologize?
The media was quick to push the “possible arson” and “judge who overturned Trump” memes yesterday. They know many who ingested those memes will not see the quiet update falsifying those beliefs.

An insurance fire...
A job for Johnny Dollar, insurance investigator.
That area of Edisto Island is so filled with security gates and Ring cams, you’d have to be insane to try to burn someone’s house down.
with most of the family inside? Possible but not likely.
Did they have an EV in the garage or maybe an e-bike?
The media was doing their darndest to blame it on MAGA.

Reichstein fire? Really?
“… but the first floor?”
Coastal house built on piers.
it’s a South Carolina beach house,, google a picture of one

Well, the headline was true... but lies by implication.
“Judge Who Opposed Trump Has Home Burned to Ground” would have been even stronger with the mislead.
“1st floor”
Most houses there are on stilts to protect them from hurricane storm surge flooding. So, the 1st floor is often 12’ above the ground.
Past-tense?
‘They’ BLAME. Case in point here: Democrat Congressman Daniel Goldman.
Judge speaks out after her $1.5m mansion ‘exploded’ in suspected arson attack after she defied Trump order
“Democrat Congressman Daniel Goldman took to X to slam Trump’s Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller for ‘doxxing’ judges.
‘Stephen Miller and MAGA-world have been doxxing and threatening judges who rule against Trump, including Judge Goodstein,’ Goldman wrote.
‘Today, someone committed arson on the Judge’s home, severely injuring her husband and son. Will Trump speak out against the extreme right that did this??’”
