Britain, Canada and Australia confirmed on Sunday that they now formally recognize Palestinian statehood, piling pressure on Israel to ease the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and putting three major U.S. allies at odds with the Trump administration.
The seemingly coordinated announcements came on the eve of the annual gathering of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, at which France and Portugal are also expected to vote for recognition of Palestinian statehood.

Their actions will have unintended consequences, from places they never imagined. Goodbye, Britain, New Zealand, Canada, Australia, etc. the Five eyes have been blinded. And France has joined their blindness.
I don't think it's about pressuring Israel, though they like to play pretend that the UK is still a world power. Rather it is their own domestic politics they are playing. Hoping to be eaten last.

Several European countries seem to be following the leaders
(Britain, soon France & Spain) and deciding not to do much business with Israel, because this country is fighting Hamas back.
I have never understood the underlying hatred, suspicion or resentment of Jews in several areas of Europe.
Before, during and after the Vichy era. Perhaps it is nothing more than the human impulse to blame others for one’s failures and shortcomings.
Seems to me, for the most part, Jews have been a steady civilizing force on the Western World. I have always admired their high regard for education and certain areas of philosophy. Some of my most competent, most inspiring teachers were Jewish. Great people to know. Ironically, it’s rather similar to how the traditional German culture has aided civilization with organized functions and the refinements of engineering.
Muslims will rule everywhere eventually by way of population growth.
