British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is moving forward with plans to introduce digital identification systems as part of efforts to overhaul the country's asylum and immigration system, with an announcement anticipated as early as his party's conference this month, the Financial Times reported on Friday.
The finer details of the scheme were still being ironed out and the timeline could change, the report added, citing two people briefed on the matter.
Immigration and asylum remain at the heart of Britain's political debate, with the government under pressure to curb record migrant arrivals in small boats, while also addressing the strain of housing tens of thousands of asylum seekers.

Digital ID? Where does the original data come from for those who come from other nations with limited ability to provide any records. So the English born have all their information attached to their ID record, but these from other countries only have the data the emigrant provided (made up). Great plan!
They have less than 25 main battle tanks left in their army.

15 U.S. states already have “digital ID”...i.e. smart phone wallet driver’s licenses. How “scary” it is depends on your definition of “digital ID”. No scary “body tattoos”/”Mark of the Beast”/RFID implants yet.

In this country, the RealID is only used for people who are legally here. The illegal aliens are allowed onto theplanes with no verifiable ID.
What grates is that the UK, EU, are just itchin’ to get NATO involvement in a battle with Russia.
Of course with their piddly little militaries and economies, you know who gets to do the dying and bear the brunt.
The only thing big about these globalist leaders is their mouths and their ability to lie and create chaos.
Kind of a “generic” write up..are they (the UK) just digitizing UK driver’s license type information? (They are probably requiring all citizens/minors? to get their new “digital ID”...not just licensed drivers?). U.S. states get your name, address, DOB, a thumb/finger print, and a photo of your face for a driver’s license, and in addition proof of SSN, proof of citizenship/residency for a federal approved state “Real ID”/DL. And all that info. collected is “digitized” and available electronically. So the argument could be made that we already have “digital ID’s” in the USA via the state DMV’s....just not “mandatory” if you are not a licensed driver or don’t want/get a state ID card. UK is looking to mandate them it looks like.
An internal passport is an abomination and goes against the concept of free and unfettered travel within the US. Real ID should be illegal and shoved down the throats of the aholes that came up with it. I always travel with my passport anyway in case I have to get the hell out of here.
If you are an illegal entrant to the nation, just send them home. Problem solved. If you are an illegal entrant zero public benefits, problem solved. If you commit a major crime go to jail and then sent home, problem solved.
