In 2035, when Tesla is making more than 10,000,000 Optimus per year, Tesla will run ads like this on TV. “Four easy payments of $6,942”
I (i.e., Chris First, @chrisfirst) created the first ad for the @Tesla_Optimus robot, inspired by classic late-night TV commercials.
It is a BRILLIANT piece of work! I'm sorry, you have to go to X to see it. Be sure to turn your sound on.
It's time consuming to convert an X/Twitter video to GIF, host it somewhere, and put the SILENT video clip here. It's a shame the Robinsons cannot find the development money to enable mp4 videos on FR.
Tech specs on production. Mr. First says he made the video using tools in @Freepik: * Text to Image using @NanoBanana * Image to Video using @FlowbyGoogle * Upscaled to 4K using @topazlabs Astra
If humanity survives - if democrats can be kept from power - we will eventually end up with robots/automatons/andriods like that. I probably won’t live long enough to see it, but I can get a glimse of it already through Ai. I think at first it will be a real mind blower for people, but like everything else people will get use to it, bored with it and it will just be one more thing to get annoyed by LOL! “Go oil yourself, leave me alone”
Well done.
Elon Musk is working on it. He says the hands are the most difficult thing to engineer.
Ping
It won’t let me order ?
I guess that is ok, I suppose I can wait for the curvy lovebot version.
That can happen real quick. Imagine bringing home an Optimus robot. The firs few months are great, and you love having a companion along. Then the nagging starts..."You made a mess at the toilet again!". Then Optimus reminds you that you forgot to take it in for a service appointment and you're neglecting it. Soon it's telling you what a mess you are, and how you're not taking care of yourself. Then when you consider dumping the robot, you find yourself locked out of your home and all your stuff thrown onto the front lawn. Remember, they're smarter than you!
As if humans haven't gotten lazy enough today.
Oscar Madison??!? Is that you?!
And the robot can be Felix. People are careless about inviting others into their home. You would think a humanoid robot would be different. But AI can be scary when paired with a robot.
A long-time friend of my wife invited in a man to live in her home. Occupying a downstairs room, she only knew him for about a month. No contract. All good for the first few months as he drove her places, and did a few chores. Friend didn’t listen to my wife’s warnings and advice. Fast forward a year, and he had slowly taken over more and more of the home beyond the downstairs room and became a pest. She threatened to kick him out, and he said he would sue her. Became a nightmare for her as a widow. Finally, someone who knew her deceased husband threatened the guy saying he would kill the guy, got the pest to move out.
It might be much harder to evict an Optimus robot.
Those who haven’t read the science fiction story “With Folded Hands”, by Jack Williamson, should do so.
Robots will literally build robots.
I take it that the pole-dancing one has a credit card swipe reader on it.
The pole dancer was kinda hot. 😁
LOL...no G-String to slip bills into, though. 😭
Good, because the dang thing costs a fortune. 😜

All AI must be stopped and destroyed now. If they build it, we all die.
