Sir Keir Starmer insisted that he would lead Labour into the next general election.
The Prime Minister said he would “definitely” still be in charge even if the poll took place as late as 2029.
When it was put to him that he would almost be eligible for the state pension by then, the Labour leader told BBC Radio 5 Live: “I am definitely going to lead them into the next election.
“I’ve always said this is a decade of national renewal. I’m really proud and privileged to lead this country as Prime Minister. I intend to do that until the next election.
“And that project of renewal is absolutely integral to the next phase of this Government and then on into the next election and beyond that.”
Sir Keir turns 63 on Tuesday. From next year, the state pension age is set to rise to 67 for both men and women.
The next general election has to be held before mid-August in 2029, just weeks before he is 67. If he is still in power after that election, Sir Keir will be the first prime minister of pensionable age since Margaret Thatcher.

I first read that as “into extinction”.
They may have to dig him up for that to happen.

I don’t know about the cheating. But here’s something I have mentioned elsewhere. In the last general election, Labour received only 34% of the vote. Yet that gave them a huge majority in Parliament.
It’s all due to the UK having many non-Labour parties. The district votes often get split, and Labour wins with a plurality.
And the news gets even worse. By 2029 there will be even more Muslim voters. And I don’t think they’re going to vote for Reform.
