I hope they sue the trucking company out of business. I wonder who insures trucking companies like that.

I hope they sue California for billions for giving him a CDL license.

The bureaucrats that issued the CDL in WA and CA should also be liable; but their qualified immunity will unfortunately save them.

At this point the company is basically uninsurable and is almost certain to go out of business.

One of the things the lawyers are likely to do is pursue options that may allow them to pierce the shield of personal protection for the owners of a limited liability company or corporation. I am not a lawyer, but I would think that criminal charges against the owners of the company would help that cause in a big way.

OH, I got it! There are approximately 7,159 languages spoken in the world today. So we just need to post all signs in those 7,159 languages……….

“What happens if they don’t read? “ 🤔🤔🤔🤔…. OOOOO I’ve got it! A new Federal reading program for those with the other 7,158 languages!

Anyone know how to set up an NGO?

The grieving families effectively have no recourse because the driver is destitute and the trucking company has no real assets to be claimed. There might be some actual insurance but getting money from a legitimate Insuror for such a claim will be hard. If the Insuror is an illegitimate California pretend Insuror, there is still nothing

The primary fact to keep in mind is that all the entities to be sued are in California. California is a lawless former American state

Sickening. No amount of monetary compensation can replace the loss for the family and friends. Holding all those accountable for this horrible event would be
a good start IMO.

IMO, any “deep pocket” that assumes any responsibility for preventing such individuals from being behind the wheel of a semi should be sued. This would include the company that hired him, the government that gave him a license, etc.

You miss the point.

There are no “deep pockets”. That’s the whole point, the business model.

The insurance companies need to stop insuring companies that hire illegals, etc. Maybe they don’t have $1M+ insurance and just go out of business when they have an “accident”.

There are no “deep pockets”.

Liability Insurance. The company probably is required to carry at least a million.

By the way, the guys in that ad look pretty happy about this whole situation.

The van driver must have been texting or something. Hard to believe an unimpaired driver paying attention could have ended up like that. Sunny day, dry pavement.

Expert finds 80+ violations: Troubled trucking firm tied to deadly Turnpike crash

The truck involved in last week's Florida Turnpike crash that killed three South Floridians belonged to a company with 25 truck safety violations in the last 24 inspections and two drivers caught driving on suspended licenses in 2024.
