DeSantis: State line won't protect criminal illegals; sends 'Chuck Norris' deputy to nab fugitive trucker

'I believe in a government that doesn’t look the other way but takes the time to enforce the law,' Jay Collins said

EXCLUSIVE: Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis sent his deputy to California to pick up fugitive Harjinder Singh, an illegal immigrant from India who allegedly killed three motorists after making an illegal U-turn in his big rig on Florida's Turnpike near Port St. Lucie.

"I have dispatched my new lieutenant governor, Jay Collins, to California to apprehend Harjinder Singh," DeSantis told Fox News Digital on Wednesday.

"Fleeing to a sanctuary state will not prevent him from facing justice in Florida, and we will make sure of that. He will be held accountable for his criminal actions."

Singh fled to the "sanctuary" Golden State, where he had also obtained his commercial driver's license (CDL), after he allegedly killed three people in a minivan who were traveling on Florida's Turnpike between the Yeehaw Junction and Fort Pierce exits.

Singh allegedly utilized a narrow median crossover clearly marked for only emergency vehicles and blocked all northbound lanes in attempting the maneuver, which led to the van slamming into the trailer and being wedged beneath, killing its occupants.

Collins, who was appointed lieutenant governor last week after the prior departure of Jeanette Nuñez, is a former state senator and wounded veteran from Tampa.

DeSantis notably nicknamed Collins "the Chuck Norris of Florida Politics" for his earnestness and eagerness to get involved in sensitive situations, including the return of Jewish Americans from Israel after the Hamas terror attack on Oct. 7, 2023.

Collins flew west on Wednesday afternoon to retrieve Singh.

"Florida lost three innocent lives at the hands of an illegal immigrant who never should have been in this country to begin with," he told Fox News Digital in further exclusive comments.

At least he’s being held in without bail... I would have half expected CA would have set him free already.

I doubt some skanky Caribbeaner Dipstick Judge is going to allow Newscum to turn the boy over to Florida. He’s theirs now and more than likely, some RAT senator is going to want to hire him for his personal pool boy and boy toy.

I thought Florida deputized their police to arrest illegals. That would have been a second reason to arrest him on the spot, and probably his passenger too.

A U-turn in an 18 wheeler ON A HIGHWAY. There’s NO WAY this idiot should’ve been turned loose by anyone in Florida. I hope DeSantis arrests whoever set him free.

From AI
Initially, Harjinder Singh, the truck driver involved in a fatal Florida Turnpike crash, was not arrested immediately in Florida, though he was detained briefly,.
Instead, Singh and a passenger flew to Sacramento, California the day after the crash, before a warrant was issued for his arrest.
This is why, when Singh was ultimately taken into custody, it was in Stockton, California, by U.S. Marshals on the Florida charges, according to the U.S. Marshals Service (.gov).
Singh was subsequently brought before a judge in San Joaquin County, California, where he signed extradition papers, signaling his agreement to be transferred to Florida to face charges of three counts of vehicular homicide. Florida has 30 days to complete the transfer,.

How the HELL did Singh get away from the major crime and accident site? That’s the first I heard that he got away.

Who drove him away? Arrest that person, too?

They’re probably doing that so Collins can’t get him.

Someone posted that a guy with the same name collapsed a bridge by driving a 30 ton vehicle onto it. The bridge was rated for 6 tons.

The extradition order has already been signed. For once I’m proud of the dump where I grew up: the order was signed by a San Joaquin Superior Court judge in Stockton

Harjinder Singh needs to be at the end of a rope executing simple harmonic motion.

I bet the illegal hopes California doesn’t extradite him to Florida because Florida has a death penalty.
