A D.C. police commander is under investigation for allegedly making changes to crime statistics in his district.
The Metropolitan Police Department confirmed Michael Pulliam was placed on paid administrative leave in mid-May. That happened just a week after Pulliam filed an equal employment opportunity complaint against an assistant chief and the police union accused the department of deliberately falsifying crime data, according to three law enforcement sources familiar with the complaint.
The union claims police supervisors in the department manipulate crime data to make it appear violent crime has fallen considerably compared to last year.
Pulliam — the former commander of the 3rd District that patrols Adams Morgan and Columbia Heights — was placed on leave with pay and told he was under investigation for questionable changes to crime data, five law enforcement sources familiar with the investigation told News4.
That came about a week after he filed a complaint against Executive Assistant Chief of Police Andre Wright, according to three law enforcement sources familiar with the complaint.
News4 reached out to Pulliam for comment. He denied the allegations against him and referred us to the public information officer.
Union officials said there is a larger trend of manipulating crime statistics.

For the record, the fact that the article is from 7/18/2025 is not relevant to what the article is stating.
The date is irrelevant. The point is that this has been going on for years, anyone can see how a DEI chief doesn’t have to give direct orders to lie and cook the books, just do your job in a way that makes her look good.
It may be nothing more than an interesting coincidence but I’m struck by the fact that this is the second firing of someone within a week for publishing bad statistics.
I stand corrected. Within a month, not a week.

Falsifying crime statistics...
not punishing the criminals
letting criminals go free, because keeping them would indicate crimes were committed and which would have to be reported.
A vicious cycle which only creates a more crime-ridden city or state.
Crimes that are not reported and not punished, encourages those criminals to do more crimes.
No punishment for criminals, encourages other criminals to join the ranks of the criminal element.
Bottom line is that, democrats are the biggest criminal element in the country, since they are encouraging more criminals and more crime.

CNN just told me there is no reason for the feds to police D.C. because the violent crime rate is falling, perhaps even insignificant...
Senior Police officers don’t do stuff like this unless they’re ordered to. You know that this is just the end of a trail of breadcrumbs that will almost certainly lead though the fkg mayor and then to the fkg Gov and even to Senators. If this is true, then Bondi damn well better follow this lead!

Near as I can tell Pulliam either was playing ball and decided for whatever reason to stop or was not performing his “functions” to the satisfaction of his superiors.
Or, he decided to blackmail his superiors.
Time will tell.
But the one upstairs who ordered it goes free
The MPD and City council of Memphis has been doing this for years. Unfortunately crime is so bad there even trying to quick chalk the data can’t cover up the significant amount of crime.
