European leaders have warned against Ukrainian borders being redrawn by force – two days before a US-Russia summit on Ukraine is due to take place in Alaska.
In a statement, European leaders said "the people of Ukraine must have the freedom to decide their future".
It added the principles of "territorial integrity" must be respected and "international borders must not be changed by force".
The statement was signed by 26 of 27 leaders. Missing from the signatories was Hungary's leader Viktor Orban, who has maintained friendly relations with Russia and has repeatedly tried to block European Union support for Ukraine.
The statement underscored the nervousness felt by Europeans about Moscow's actions in Ukraine, which many countries – particularly those bordering Russia or those in which the memory of Soviet occupation still lingers – believe could pose a direct threat in the near future.

Tell that to Crimea.
You know how this stops? The citizens of those areas that fell so quickly to Russia should be allowed to vote, but that won’t go so well for Zelensky. Most of those citizens consider themselves to BE russian.
As to the EU? They need to STFU since they have been hiding behind our skirts since this started.
Am I missing something......last time I looked they already had!
“Vitamin D and Magnesium”
True in an ideal world, but if China had slipped-in and flipped Canada’s government to be hostile to the US and a threat militarily, I wouldn’t object to the US looking after its own interests by grabbing pieces of it, particularly if parts of Canada were clamoring for us to come in.
Wait - weren't the current borders of Ukraine established by the Red Army which took land from Poland, Czechoslovakia and Hungary in 1945?
And wasn't the northern Black Sea coast and Crimea, called Novorossiya, taken from Turkey by force?
So funny.
All Europe’s borders have been redrawn over and over by wars.
Well let’s look at the options:
Give the Russians a gift basket and ask them to leave 🤔
Pay the Russians to leave 😂
Physically force the Russians to leave……😱
well boys and girls, and I guess that wraps up the Ukrainians options…..
Great short article
Maybe if they stopped buying Russian oil, Russia would leave.
But nooooo, they can’t be inconvenienced, only the American taxpayer should be inconvenienced.
Good luck with that demand.
Before the war started, it is likely that the large Russian population in Eastern Ukraine would have sought unification with Russia.
However, since the war began, Ukraine Russians have seen up close the complete indifference of President Putin to massive Russian casualties plus his suicidal expenditure of Russian money.
In 2025, I think an honest vote in Eastern Ukraine could go either way.
I agree with them. But I see how their declaration is meaningless because they have chosen to not be prepared to deal with threats like this. How well have each of those 26 countries done to spend at least 4% of their GDP every year the past few decades on their defense services?
Say the "leaders" who sold their country out to globalists who've used illegal alien invaders to violate Territorial Integrity, including in the United States.
Force is the normal way for borders to change. These people act like saying something makes it so - the expected progression after you say that a man calling himself a woman makes him a woman.
The whole issue here is whether Ukraine can be made to face reality, or whether they will continue to kill off their own people in order to deny reality.
Most of the leaders in the EU are delusional; nobody should even pay attention to what comes out of their mouths.
A+. Very important observation, applicable to the entire liberal/leftist fantasy structure.
I'm stealing it.
In a way, I agree with this statement.
But Starmer and Macron will have to raise an army and send their soldiers to Ukraine.
I doubt they can even find 10,000 men together so they can send a division to Ukraine.
Tell that to Serbia and Kosovo.
What complete nonsense! The majority of the inhabitants of Donbas considered themselves Ukrainian. Kherson and Zaporizhzia only have 14% and 25% of their respective populations who identify as Russian. Recent polls in Donbas show a preference for unity with Ukraine over Russia 2:1. Only Crimea has a majority Russian population.
