I remember the days when people were passengers, not cargo.

I just refuse to fly.

It makes coming back into the US a lot easier and faster, stand here, look here, thank you.

I don't mind it, I like airport security to be robust.

(I never even mind getting the occasional random, extra search, although it rarely happens to moi.)

I'm sure passengers and government agencies, like terrorism inside planes a lot less.

I remember those days too. But then, 9/11 and passengers with explosives in their shoes happened.

It was so fast!

But then, what if I become a serious dissident? I'll need to get really wily to skip out. They'll be after my retinas.

I don’t mind the occasional cavity search, what with the cost of dentists these days.

I have never allowed the face scan, but my wife recently was not offered the option and was scanned before talking with the Homeland officer.

She has been mad, ever since.

You mean back when we were citizens and not subjects? The bottlenecks have become a feature, and the unions won’t let go easily, if at all.

I’ve been finger printed, DNA registered, etc, etc. And facial recognition actually makes boarding easier for me, I don’t have an issue.

I sympathize with your loss of anonymity but facial recognition now permeates our public areas not just airports. I was in Lowe’s last week and they have them at the check out area.

I’m not a fan of using biometrics for everything, it’s a digital ID, if compromised you can’t change it (unlike a credit card) - although inevitable for ID’ing somebody. I fly a lot. I just tell them, “no picture thanks”. Never had anyone give me a problem. Although there’s little difference between that and giving them a passport, it’s no faster or slower.

IMHO...9/11 was an anomaly, it succeeded because we were naive. It wouldn’t work today. I have little faith in TSA being actually effective. I had money stolen in a TSA line.

Passengers and politicians should go to China, it’s standard practice there, with no exception!

How’s this, everybody wear an Obama halloween mask, and if they try to make you take it off .. start screaming very loud “racist, racist”.

Back in April I had an extra search in Japan by a woman security agent. Very professional, but I’d opt for more of those given the choice!

Facial recognition for identification is here to stay and also not possible to avoid. If you have e a drivers license, they have your identity.

We need anal recognition software for govt officials because their faces keep morphing.
